Today was the biggest test of all playing Hamworthy Utd, known for its quality players in depth what a game.
PT started the game playing three at the back and found themselves 3- nil down in ten minutes, The team was switched to play 4-4-2 which saw the game swing towards PT dominating in all areas.
KJ.... I had to change the formation, as it did not suit my players, if we carried on we would have been slaughtered. So i decided to revert to 4-4-2 as mike Bassett said...this suited and thats why we scored 4 excellent goals from 3-nil down.
The highly rated Karanjit Aujla collected a pass from Garry Morris he raced down the line and crossed for the evergreen Mike Glavin to nod home a quality goal. PT got on top and halftime came..
With fireworks and air turning blue in the home dressing, PTFC came out with guns blazing to face a another Hamworthy X1.......this didn't change the way PT played, with Gary Morris and Dave Sturgess dominating the midfield play...Matty Welsh, Marc Jackson, commanding the back four the side grew in statue....when Mike Glavin raced down the line to cross for Dave Sturgess to slot home 3-2 game on.
What a cracker the third was young Paul thingy raced onto a through ball to curl home with the outside of his boot from 18 yards pass the diving keeper.
PT dominated what was the stronger of the two Hamworthy sides and Ryan Wolfedon made it 4-3 to the Town when picking up the ball inside his own half rounding three players and again curling a delightful ball into the far corner.
The game finished with the Town once again showing a lot of character and belief in thereselves.
KJ as always proud of the younger players, picked out senior players Matty Welsh, Gary Morris...along with captain Mike Glavin and Ryan Wolfedon.....
The icing on the cake was the news that Karanjit Aujla has decided not to join Dorchester reserves and stay at Poole Town........Kevin Jackson said "I been up all night worrying that i was to loose K he is a quality striker with pace and an eye for goal"
Also a well supported game.....wot do you guys think
