Poole Town must have a permanent home within the Borough of Poole, No where else. Hamworthy is well within the Borough of Poole. As someone has already mentioned the County Ground is the DCFA's but that wouldn't necessarily preclude a merger (takeover) between Hamworthy United and Poole Town. Poole United? Where else is there "within the BOP"?

Almost mentioned it, but swerved at the last moment. 😉

Games being postponed because players cant get time off work, while the most recently departed "League of greed" boss will recieve at least £15 million pounds, a well payed reward for failure. You couldn't make it up.

Under Christchurch & Poole will end up like Boscombe as a result. No wonder those actually affected by this weren't allowed a referendum!

Re the S*****m- .The only thing in the sights of a newly formed Authority would be to build on it.

Poole power station. They actually had a team playing the the Dorset League named Poole Generators.Wimborne were in Dorset league 4 or similar at that time. Great sight to see the sun over those two chimneys from the Terraces as the red and white ran out from the old dressing rooms. I think that they are offices now. Bit of a gauntlet for officials who were having a bad day!! Notices had to be posted on several occasions! Seriously I think that we all must be getting a bit worried about the fixture postponements and thus the continuing conversation about Tatnam.

Okay someone has finally pushed my buttons.... Sod the merger with Bmth & Xch councils... I'm Poole born and bred and Poole is, always was and always should be in Dorset. As far as I'm concerned Bmth & Xch always were in Hampshire and that's where they still should be. The next door league of greed club, don't want to affiliate themselves to the Dorset F.A. so it's about time the Dorset F.A. powers to be (if there are any there with dangly bits) stood alongside a club such as Poole Town, who our proud to say we are based in Dorset. Yes there are other clubs n Dorset that aspire to be the Pride of Dorset, but as yet Poole Town F.C. can still proudly claim that title..... Right rant over.. back to enjoying a christmas tipple

Agree with your sentiments Grandad. The people of Christchurch themselves voted overwhelmingly against any merger but their wishes were overturned.

How the hell does a post by Rob start by saying how he's enjoying the hospitality over the bridge at HUFC, and end up with posts about the Stadium, mergers and council mergers?..... anyone?

Because there is the continuing saga of postponements at Tatnam. Seem to remember a few seasons ago we developed an enormous backlog and could not catch up to the leaders. Unwittingly or not Rob's post highlighted the fact that the Hammers were playing and we were not and that they had pretty good amenities for the punters. We like to hold on to the 'Pride of Dorset" title. ..and it raises the question that in the past couple of seasons are we going forward, stuck in neutral, or even worse gradually going backwards.

We are not the only club that suffers postponements when hit with the inclement weather, that happens on natural grass surfaces. Your argument for 3G is a valid one, however, it's not likely to happen at Tatnam. Which would then lead us to the next stage of your argument, the Stadium. It won't happen. This has been debated and argued again and again and again. It won't happen. Tatnam may be limited in what the club can do in regards to developing it, maybe a new stand for the pavilion end? What i am confident in is that Tatnam will be our home for at least the next 10 or so years, maybe even longer. The stadium is dead.

OK. Let there be no complaints about the inevitable postponements coming up in January,February & March; we can content ourselves with being a small fish in a small pond.Dreams of a quick return to the NLS are so far proving to be just that. Weymouth had nearly 700 for their league match yesterday. Other than local derbies when was the last time we had anything near that number? As RTS pointed out,at Hamworthy the fans could watch the match on screen inside the clubhouse and money was being generated from a private function. Another 10yrs at Tatnam. One would hope that we are a little more ambitious than that.

One would hope that we are a little more ambitious than that. Weymouth get 700+ because they are a the only club in the town, they are bigger than us. We have a number of clubs in and around the area and have AFCB who are riding high in the league of greed. In my opinion we have hit our ceiling, the two seasons in the national league South were amazing, but we were clearly punching above our weight on and off the pitch. Unless there is a sugar daddy or a consortium with ton of cash, nothing will change.

There will not be a Sugar Daddy because the business case for us is a big fat zero and will continue to be at Tatnam. Quite a few season ticket holders will probably disagree with you about "hitting the ceiling" Striving and ambition are two very human qualities very much intertwined the football and being content with mediocrity is a recipe for disaster

However it's not going to happen.
