does anyone else remember the "Vanguard" which was the green steam engine which was used in the 50s/60s on Poole Park Miniature Railway?? It is still in existence up in Lincolnshire as part of a private collection. Rode today out here in the Great White North behind a Bassett-Lowke 7in gauge Royal Scot. This Engine dates back to 1936 and is one of only three that made it to North America. Three generations later and its still a great attraction for the kids. Just like those heroes in red and white!!

Expat, Vanguard is still very much alive and is still working albeit at a miniature railway in the Midlands. I am heavily involved liasing with the council in the planning and running of the refurbished Poole Park Railway which is expected to be completed Summer 2019...
