It's a very good article Doug, thanks. Unfortunately those with knowledge and expertise have to debate with those that have neither and this is particularly true of football, a field in which everyone knows, or thinks that they know, everything and, consequently, they are all experts! And, as the author admits, everyone is entitled to a say even if they aren't terribly well-informed and experts should have a modicum of humility and are sometimes wrong, as the author also admits. I do like the notion of the "Dunning-Kruger effect" and the five points at the end should be read by everyone before they contribute to any discussion. Finally, as attributed to Francis Bacon, "Scientia potentia est".

Blimey Doug you need to be an expert to read this. I found it enlightening but doubt the people the article refers too will ever belong to this Forum!!! ? Nudge nudge wink wink.
