First time I've seen Poole this season and was really pleased with what I saw.
I think that we played good passing football in the first half and if we can keep hold of him Taffy will give us steel and drive in the midfield, this should give us a good balance.
The second half was my first chance to see some of our young reserves and I have to agree with other posts on the site that they certainly have talent. Looks like the future is bright for some of them.
Hopefully we will see more of the same on Tuesday and Friday nights.
Would also just like to wish my brother luck when he trains with the reserves on Tuesday night.

i have just read some of the messages posted on the bored, especially the comments regarding the younger players signed for Poole Town this season. Its refreshing to see we obviously have the support of the club supporters and it is appreciated. I came to the club expecting maybe a few games for the reserves this season. Yesterday Tommy gave me a chance of 25mins runout with the 1st team. I was pleased with the way i was accepted by other senior players and felt i contributed in the 25mins or so i played. The result was good for the club and i really enjoyed it. A couple of other players who came to the club with me, who also have caught the managers eye in some early pre-season games realise if they continue to impress Tommy and Kevin, they will not be frightened of using them. Exciting times ahead would appear for the club, i know i made the right decision in joining, although i realise alot of hard work is still to be done with my game, with Tommy and Kevin there to guide me i can only get better. Thanks for your support!

I heard that the lads did well, but from people i have spoken to Salisbury didn't send much of a team, not that I'm knocking the lads, 3 goals and good periods of play should rightly be applauded. Would be interesting to get Salisbury side of the story.
Still, nice one lads, well done Tommy, lets keep it going.

I spoke to Gary Funnell (who played for Salisbury last year) after the game and he said that Salisbury were only 4 short of their 1st team squad. i hope this puts the result in perspective. Well Done Poole!!

Well Done Poole!! Have just been to the Salisbury site, where it says that only 3 regular first team players played us yesterday. I guess the truth is somewhere in between 3 and 8. Whatever though its not really an issue, we all know that at the moment, on a normal match day when both teams field their proper starting 11, the two teams are literally leagues apart. The important thing is that the lads had a run out and a will have had a confidence boost and Tommy got to see some of the younger lads play. I doubt that Salisbury will be that bothered by the result.

A very good Poole performance yesterday regardless of who Salisbury had in their team, impressed with some of Tommy's new signings and promotion is a real possibility!
I too was impressed with some of the youngsters in the 2nd half, a great move to have a reserve team and I look forward to watching some of the reserve fixtures to see how they get on during the season.
Well done Carl, you looked very sharp when you came on and a lot of people watching were impressed. Keep up the hard work and as you say Kevin and Tommy will give you every opportunity.

Well done on the win it was well deserved.
Yes, Tommy is stretching things a bit when he says 6 1st team regulars started, but there was plenty of Dr Martens League experience out there and with the players we had out there we should have done better.
Good luck for the season Tommy, Gary Funnell and all at Poole.

Well Done Poole!! Hmmm, only 1 of the team that started at Wimborne 2 days earlier started yesterday's match, and only 1 of the other 10 made an appearance yesterday so we were 9 regulars short. Doesn't matter though, you played well and I think you'll have a very good season under Tommy.
