21 July 2004 Friendly match Poole Borough 1 Poole Town 4
Poole played two distinct teams with the first team playing the first half and the reserves the second half. Poole dominated the opening stages and scored an early own goal from a Paul Manning cross. After that a couple of easy chances were wasted before Borough came back into the match towards half time. The second half was a different story as the kids played some scintillating touch football and scored three brilliant goals. Make no mistake, these youngsters are talented and confident and will be worth watching this season.

Agree it was a good game and in front of a decent crowd approx 80 so just think what a memorial game would be like so.....
come on lets get together and organise that game
just one point shame none of the directors (dougie excused distance aware!) did not come and see your youngsters, they played good football.
All the best for the season to come

Having read the message left by "Jane Borough Fan" I felt I had to write in defence of the Directors as to the reasons why they were absent from the match. Chris Reeves is abroad on his annual holiday, Arthur Robbins missed the match due to poor health and Clive had a prior business appointment.
I have it on good authority that Chris Reeves trawled the internet to get the result from his hideaway in deepest Greece!!
Yours in football.

In reply to Janes thread regarding a possible memorial game in memory of Ken Yeoman. I think what she is asking for is for a game to be played every year for a trophy in Kens memory. Well I think we should think if Ken was still here what would he say? I think he would say NO THANKS he was a PTFC fan and no one else mattered. If he could see how the new PBFC had split and gone their separate way he would have said good luck and goodby. So I personally think we should not have a annual memorial game.

Benito,
Everyone has their opinion but i disagree,
Yes Ken was a Poole (there one only one team then!)supporter but who knows what he would have done when the spilt occured(i have a very good idea) but despite that there IS a cup that was donated in his memory there was SUPPOSED to be a game between Moor Green and Poole Town annually (if Benito is who i think he is hes should be aware of this) this did take place on several occasions home and away. But suddenly it stopped WHY? and Kens friends should be asking where is the cup and can we put it to good you as i am.
Anyway the whole reason for suggesting was to break down a few so called barriers that certain people have between the team. Maybe bitter rivalry is what people want how sad! And as i said CANCER RESERCH would be the winners.
As to my posting re reserve game i apologise if it was taken in an offensive manner none intended was just praising your youngsters!
