Yes indeed I set off from Yorktwon VA on May 9th and aim to reach Astoria OR sometime at the end of July. My chosen charity is Dentaid.org. A local charity having supported over 250 oral health programmes in 60 countries. Donate online at justgiving.com/alanjyoung. Thanks for your support

Yorktown was where the British surrendered in 1781, the last major engagement of the American War of Independence. A good place to start I suppose! Where's Astoria?

Yeah thanks Brian. It is THE recognised start and end (for those going west to east)point from the ACA routes. Astoria is just below Seattle, Oregon.

A quick update: 1071 miles completed 24 days passed. Went through the Apalacians, tough start, through Kentucky, currently passing through Ilinois. Regular twitter updates @leftygoldblat.Thanks

Update: currently in west Yellowstone, Montana. Covered 3035 miles and 7 states, on the home straight now 19 riding days to go + around 1000mile. Been very lucky weather sun all the way bar x2 days. Bit like Poole then !?

Hope you made it so far without getting sunburn!! Toronto is hotter than Cairo today going to 41c with the Humidity!! Ohhhh for some nice English summer weather(has it been a little damp lately???) EP/ I had temps 80's and 90's most of the way, a few 100F + days too. Overall quite lucky really, missed the scorching weather around Kansas . Thanks Brian Bring on next season.
