I have just witnessed the Circus now at Branksome Rec. It seems that about a 1,000 people attend each show. There did not seem to be any parking problems. No traffic chaos. All seemed very smooth with the car parking in the area. Since this is many more people then will probably attend PTFC match days things should be OK and the Council gave permission for the circus and consequently the amount of people who could attend.
There didn't seem to be a problem for the dog walkers either and there was plenty of room around the circus area which took up a little more than a football pitch.
I can't see why there is such a fuss

Just a thought but I wonder what the Branksome residents would think to a reviewed proposal from PTFC with the plans being reduced in scale to just the clubs new proposed ground? This would surely keep the dog walkers happy and as has just been said there isnt any problems in terms of congestion now the circuis is in town which appears to attract many more people than a regular PTFC game.

I don't think there is any need for the proposal to be reduced, there would still be at least 3/4 of the Rec for their dogs to c**p all over(having played there on numerous occasions it's not very pleasant), er I mean walk. How much space do they need for an open toilet FFS?

I agree stfc, but not everyone shares our enthusiasim for PTFC and well the clubs proposals have allready been rejected once by the council. If I had it my way I would push through the initial plans for Branksome rec, there are however other people with different views on how the space should be used. The club has to be seen to be willing to negotiate somewhat in my opinion or this may just never happen. At least not at Branksome rec.

I thought the council was on or side. Isn't it? When was the rejection?

One of the local councillors was on side yes, until that person realised the ammount of local public anger at the proposals. Not really sure went on to be honest but I think the councillor concerned has stepped back somewhat, as for the proposals being rejected I forget the exact date but I remember reading 2-3 weeks ago on the Bournemouth daily echo website that the plans had been rejected and PTFC told to come back with revised plans. By the way, playing devils advocate here but is it just a coincidence that PTFC's new sponsor happens to be a what looks like reasonably large property developer?

Just to say my mum and dad live one road up from the Rec heading towards Homebase at Branksome eg Gwynne Road and they have never had anything regarding the proposals posted through their door or asked for an Against sgnature. Just goes to show how far the anti Rec brigade are really extending their tentacles And they are in favour by the way, in case anyone should bother to ask
