Just been told we've lost unanimously :-( My vote will not be going Tory locally, now. Is that the final result ?? So what now ?? Ground share ??

It's certainly hard to be optimistic when you are let down AGAIN by your own town council parky and I sympathise with people like yourself who went through seasons of tough times in lower leagues with little hope. BUT we have to have hope so let's be patient. You never know! Meanwhile there's a FA vase to be won.

We will overcome. It's now time to really get behind the Board and TK, and trust them. Better to go down in flames than fade away.

So was their any other venues the council suggested/recommended that PTFC move to.. Upton rec ? Or are they open to Poole Stadium being open up to football once more....... I'm looking for answers - will the Echo be covering this in as much depth as they did the BRAG support ?

For all those who experienced the exit from the Stadium this must be a much more bitter pill to swallow. The likes of me, this is my first black day being a Poole Town supporter. I have been very lucky I have had so many great days at Tatnam and so much great company with you guys. So I look to you to help me cope with this set back and come bouncing back stronger than ever. After all some of you guys have done it............and survived ;D
COYD...........we may have lost a battle, but not the war!

its bullnuts... theres one thing that comes to mind... the people that objected must h8 football... i recon if it was a cricket ground then it would of been accepted... i read in the paper that they held a silent protest this morning about it.. i recon we should go n really annoy them bu having a really really loud protest.. then they might have something to actually moan about

I would like to know where the council is going to find the money to improve tha facilities. Not our problem. Still will be interesting to see what BRAG and the council concoct, and what the Wreck is like in say a years time. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's still the same. Gutted for all concerned especially the BOD, I'm so sorry chaps.

I'm just an annoyed user of the facilities. Hence the last comment.. Heard they (the council) were going to improve the facilities at whitecliff but they ran out of cash... Oh and arn't Branksome Cricket Club playing at wallisdown as they are ashamed of the poor facilities...
Well I am now curious on what and where next for PTFC - especially if they get promoted again this season...

Unfortunately we have lost this battle, but not the war. I have heard from various reliable sources that the wheels are allready in motion now with plan B which is of course Canford Park Arena, it was always going to be tough to get Branksome rec pushed through but it was necessary in order to start the ball rolling with Canford Park Arena, and lets face it, Branksome rec aside, there is far more room for development at Canford Park, ok its a little further outside the town centre than Branksome but there are pro's and con's t everything.

I thought Canford Park Arena was ruled out due to it being private land ??

I think we have to wait for an announcement from the BOD, before we jump to any conclusions.

Green belt land and the owner doesn't want us there, to quote a board member. So I would be more than surprised with that one, still stranger things have happened

This information is from a very reliable source at the club, Canford Park Arena has been plan B for a while now going by the conversation I had earlier today at the planning comittee. Todays result wasnt really unexpected, the writing has been on the wall since last week when the planners report came in. Now though I think the club will be pursueing Canford Park Arena rather than Branksome rec, the planning refusal today was unanimous and I think it highly unlikely we will end up there any time soon.

I know you're right Brian, but right now i'm not feeling optimistic. Parky, we are with you buddy We certainly are! And sterte is right too, let's wait for what the Board say. Meanwhile, the finest riposte PTFC could make to the failled councillors (of both political shades) is to win the Vase.

As a supporter:
The match is lost, but not the season. The BoD and their consultants could not have done anything more than they have. My own opinion us that the Tories lead us down a path and then left us out to dry, but this is just one opinion.
Lots was said about Canford Arena being more suitable. Perhaps the FULL council will now support our application to go there. Perhaps the NIMBYs will now get off their arses and support the much needed regeneration of the facilities at Branksome. I suspect the former is more likely a reallity and that point was made and is running on BBC Radio Solent news.
Onwards and Upwards I say. See you all at Eastbourne.
