Can one of you IT experts tell me why my avatar of the MD has disappeared?

I'm not an expert Brian but have you been treating her badly of late? ;D Must be something wrong with your end as she's smiling at me from my screen as I type this message.

Thanks rednwhite. I'll wait and see what happens or is there something else I can do?

At top of page menu item - Profile > Modify Profile > Personal Information > Avatar URL Check address is valid, and width and height are set if needed.

Thanks rednwhite but I am unable to access the fotopic site to upload the image I lost. I have a 'gallery' on fotopic which is where I uploaded my avatar from but every time I try to open the fotopic website I get 'unable to connect to this page......' As you said above fotopic server may be the problem. Is there an alternative?

Fotopic.net is down at the moment, possibly for good. No-one's account is working. Do you have a local backup on your pc? Usually your ISP will give you storage for a personal website. See your ISP homepage for details on how to set it up. Or there are various online storage sites, some free, but most charge.

Thanks rednwhite. I uploaded some photos to fotopic to get them a 'URL' number/code (is that what it's called?) which is needed to move them to the website - isn't it? I'll try to do what you suggest. Meanwhile, I'm grateful for your kindness and advice.

Why doesn't it work every time? I logged into photobucket; created an album, uploaded a photo from my PC; clicked on 'properties'; highlighted the URL number; clicked on 'copy'; went to my profile on the PTFC site; clicked 'modify'; clicked on 'paste' where the avatar goes; the URL number appeared; came out of profile and ... NO AVATAR!! Then identified a similar picture from selection provided by photobucket, did the same thing as above and it worked!!!!!! I know I'm a neanderthal as far IT goes but why didn't it work for my photo. It had a URL number???

Possibly silly questions, but ensure; Avatar drop down box set to 'None' Full URL set, eg; img1.jurko.net/rootm_small.gif (this is my current one) 'Modify Profile' at bottom of page clicked before exit from profile settings.

Ta rednwhite. Not silly when you're dealing with stone age people like me but, as it happens, yes to all three questions.

The only other thing I can think of atm is a permissions issue. Is the image shared or private? I have not used photobucket etc, so only guessing now. Maybe ask Steve Bean for advice?
