ENGLAND'S 2010 WORLD CUP SQUAD: Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green. Defenders: Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips. Forwards: Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney What do the Forum reckon? Personally would've taken Bent instead of Heskey.

Theres a lot of players prone to injury in the squad. I liked the look of Adam Johnson who would have given natural balance to the left side. looks like Ashley Cole will have to do a lot of work down that flank.

Not if he selects joe cole on the left, they worked well together at chelsea.

Shaun Wright-Phillips, Peter Crouch and Emile Heskey aren't good enough. Theo Walcott should have gone plus any two decent quality and versatile forwards - can't think who though!!??

Apparently Duran Duran have done a World Cup record; "His name is Rio, and he's sitting in the Stand!!"

talk about doubters i see the web has quite a few sites that highlight one of our heroes less than inspiring performances when we lost 1-0 in 1950 in Belo Horizonte. I remember reading about it a 7yr old in the following years football annuals GO ENGLAND

If you're going with big men like Heskey and Crouch it would seem to me from this match that we need (do we call them??) wingers who can get the ball in the middle. I remain optimistic!!

A number of points have become clear as the tournament progresses.
1. No one except the Germans have really shone.BUT the Germans have used the world cup ball in the Bundesleaga all last season. 2. To be fair to Green, the ball does seem to move a bit BUT if he were fuly behind the ball.... 3. The first Brazilian Goal? The movement on the ball was NOT normal 4. The longer it has gone on, the better the USA result looks. 5. To be fair if JK is out their scouting he has had a wasted trip so far.
Just my 5 pennyworth.

I've got a suspicion that Deutschland could win it, judging on performances so far. Still in shock seeing "Bunty" Forlan can actually kick a ball now!!

After 80 minutes vs Algeria I would rate Englands chances of winning the World Cup as in the low single digit % to quote an old Poole Stadium chorus @#$%%%* Rubbish!!! Surely we can get a better team than this together. Certainly not deserving to go much further when we see the quality of Argentina, Uruguay, even old legs Italy Its not even entertaining!! glad I didn't spend thousands to go to SA

Why is it every four years we psych ourselves up into thinking we have a chance. This was a disgraceful performance by England, honestly do they deserve to go any further?? A team of lion hearted semi-pros wearing their hearts on their sleeves would have at least have given the fans an EFFORT that was sadly lacking today. CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE BEST....PTFC!! THE TRIPLE CROWN IS COMING!!
