Marc,
Well - have to say I was pretty stunned to see us get Gary Funnell! I knew there was a 'big' signing in the bag but never considered it to be Gary. There is no doubt that Tommy's links with Salisbury have paid off here and I think this will be just one signing that simply would not have been achieved if Paul / Dean were still in charge.
Did feel a little sorry for Paul & Dean as they had done a pretty decent job of getting a squad together after the O'Donnell era. However, I do agree that the club needs taking to another level and I'm not sure we would have done that with them. Tommy will gain huge respect from the players and this is key (and perhaps something missing before??) and this is shown by some signings already. Tommy just seems to be a 'winner' and I'm personally really excited for next season.
The prospects of Hayfield, Funnell and Robbins in midfield is really interesting and with Cornick, Warrington (plus others) leading the line it looks good this early on.
Delighted that Carl Woodward has decided to stay. Really thought he was on his way and again, fairly sure it's Tommy's signing as manager that persuaded him to stay. Pleased too that Spalding is back - thought he had an excellent spell at the club and Tommy rates him highly.
From what I know Tommy has a pretty long shopping list of players so lets hope we get a few more.
More info as I get it,
Cheers,
Steve

Really excited about the start of next season already, seems like Tommy has already been working hard.
I would like to think that the signing of Gary Funnell is a sign that club is still held in high regard on the local football scene and that we can have a sucessful season both on and off the pitch so that the club and us supporters get what we deserve Wessex 1 football.
With the reserve side also in place I hope that we will be able to bring young players through as well as keep squad players interested so that we can maintain a settled side.
Come on the mighty dolphins

So are you saying that Turner, Glass and Asaba are signing? ? Enough with the speculation I'll have to wait until Steve announces it. But all three would be brilliant for the club. A proven goalscorer, Top draw Keeper, excellent ball winner. Im getting quite excitible in my old age arent I

Jimmy Glass has signed for Lewes FC, so it goes to show we shouldn't take rumours too seriously.
