Then a trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow gauge steam railway. A good day out and kept in touch of the Badgers v Dolphins situation by sterte (thanks mate). COYD

Brian, I have already printed the info off for you!! I was particulary interested as the tour also involved two Class 47's (47245+47760) and wondered if you took any photo's of them at Ravenglass?

Thanks Steve. I presume Class 47s are the diesels that hauled the train from Newport - Abergaveny-Hereford-Shrewsbury- Preston and on to Carnforth where the steam train 48151 (NOT 4851 as I stated above) took over. Is that correct?
We did see another steam train pass through Carnforth at about 10.45 a.m. but I don't know where it came from or went to!
See you soon. PLease don't forget to remind me where and what time to meet you and Mandy on the 18th for the Pirates match.

Steve, what was the green diesel on the sidings by the Dog Track yesterday? It was there at about 1615. Oh, Fran that was a heritage 'Hastings unit' which had worked a 'memorial' railtour for a railway employee who died last year.. www.southernelectric.org.uk/tours/hd1001.html
