Lads, I'll be training this one down to Southampton for the ferry/fast cat to Cowes. Are we still meeting for a drink and food at the Pier View Hotel and catching cabs to Newport ? What time ferry will we be looking to catch ? Cheers.

Cool DY. I know some of the other lads who went to Cowes are looking forward to this one also. We dropped in at a fantastic little pub that had a great menu opposite Cowes pier and are looking to use this again pre Newport game. If you want some decent grub to set you up for the day I couldn't think of a better place. I think we're going to cab it into Newport from there.

Assuming the ferry is on time, could be there around 1.15, sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately my car is full, so can't offer a lift to Newport.

OK, I'm persuaded. I'll travel via Soton/West Cowes, not Pompey/Ryde as originally planned.
See you all in the Pier or earlier!

Too choppy for that ..... on the way back. In conditions like that Cambridge have been known to sink.
Did get the stamp in my passport and the visa is still valid for the rest of the year ....just in case I want to visit Fraggle Rock again.

Just wondering if the team got back alright, because nobody should ever give Rob Bayston a map AND a compass, after all he's a senior officer and would've needed an NCO's guidance :-)

Just a quick note before I head for work. It was another very good day out in good company with some good food and a shandy or two. Highlight of the day was the support behind the goal starting off some serious chanting. Looking forward to the next away game already!!
" COME ON POOLE TOWN, COME ON POOLE TOWN, COME ON POOLE TOWN "

The players did make it back on the 5.45 as planned.
As for the singing..........we need to agree one thing:
What cames after - Come on you............? We all sang something different - Dolphins, Reds, Poole Town.
I suggest that we sing Come on you Reds at corners and set plays and then follow that with a corus or two of You Reds, You Reds.

The "Come on Poole Town" chant worked well today.
What did make a difference was a roof over our heads behind the goal. I understand that is planned for Branksome.
Was good standing with you today m3. We can pick-up where we left off on Tuesday.
