Great Letter which has generated a lot of response
Which shows that a lot of Poole people are passionate about the place
Now we need some passionate people with money and a forward looking BCP council to facilitate this dream
and lest we forget some forward looking PTFC directors also
AIUI The New Cuthbury is in use nearly everyday for various sports and other events
The New Poole Stadium needs to copy that model,'surely Poole has the population and number of organisations that
could this place hopping.
The New Era Dolphins need a New Era Stadium right in the heart of Poole

Despite some ,members doubting my sanity
Read the Non League Sports Section of the Echo where a letter writer comments on our latest woes
and lo and behold talks about preventive maintenance!!
meanwhile its on to The New Stadium"

How do we know preventative maintenance doesn't happen already?

Do Drainage pumps (relatively new) go out of service just like that?
Was there any inspection of them done on a regular basis and in particular when days of rain are forecast?
If you dont put oil in your car it will eventually seize up!
You have to check it regularly
Dont electrical parts deteriorate badly in damp mild weather
I can answer that with an emphatic Yes
Prevention is always better than cure
Its not me you have to worry about,its the punters like the Echo letters guy that you have to convince;
You have to convince them to come back to Tatnam especially as there are alternatives
A former supporter may be? Doesn't buy the same excuses trotted out year after year
We do,but it doesn t mean we have to keep quiet about it, because as supporters we want to see things get better
And they will not get better if we all keep quiet
Or is he a neutral just telling it like it is?
Why dont you write to the Echo and tell this chap he has everything wrong
meanwhile lets ee if we have a game tomorrow~!

As I know many people who volunteer at the ground most of these things are checked on a regular basis. It is the constant moaning at these unpaid volunteers that gets there back up and then they leave. Volunteers are so important to all non league teams. they should be welcomed not moaned at.
And as a side, I am an experienced electrician and no electrical gear is left outside in damp conditions at the ground, everything is undercover or of waterproof variety. Things do go faulty at the most inconvenient times.

Great photo of the Stand at Poole Stadium 12/15 Echo Sports Section Speedway
A Stand paid for and erected by Poole Town Football Supporters Club
I used to watch the progress with pride every time i passed AND in those days all work was done by local contractors remember the stand on the railway side with the zigzag roof? Work was done by W.S. Try a Poole company
Vastly improved changing rooms etc and a Club with Bar underneath!
I ask this question every couple of years; Is the plaque commemorating that achievement still there?
If so its a rallying point and should be forwarded to every Poole representative on BCP
We did it before and we can do it again1
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!

I think every year I answer for you. Yes it is still in place, it has been looked at several times to remove it and transfer it to the Blackgold. But I think nobody is brave enough to try as the risk of damaging it is huge. The stand is now well past its sell by date and so if and that is a big IF it gets demolished maybe the plague will be preserved.

According to the BCP draft plan released yesterday, the Wimborne Road Stadium is to be upgraded or replaced with a modern sporting facility, unless a replacement at suitable alternative is secured.

Might have something to do with that is when rent review is due? Guessing that's all. As I keep saying I really cannot see Dolphins going back there unless a sugar daddy appears. The place needs so much money spending on it just to get it ok for standard of football we are at.

i dont think it will The Stadium as we know it now BUT
Centralised facilities for lots of sport activities
Central location for good green transportation (No Chelsea Tractors to the nether lands
BCP already own in the site and obviously The Pirates are only making a dimple in the annual upkeep costs
so more tenants and more acivities and its right near the Old Town
And it is dedicated as a Sports facilityo;obviously Speedway is making no contribution to the health aspect of this publicly owned and dedicated originally, as The Borough of Poole Sports Arena

A sobering thought
Gateshead denied competing in NL playoffs for EFL berth!
EFL requires security of tenure of at least 10yrs from applicants
Something for our BOD to consider as we attempt to do a Wrexham!
..and we have to catch up on those WTFC attendances! Over 2700 last weekend
..The watchword is,as always. Keep the Town in POOLE i.e not Branksome, Bearwood or Upton Cross Roads

The Branksome residents did not want us
the Bearwood project never got off the launching pad
Guaranteed Creekmoor residents do not want us
When BCP has an asset close to all transportation hubs. Close to the watering holes and other Old Town amenities When it could be developed into a great multi task facility Redevelop the Stadium keep the revenues close to the Town Centre rather than in some forsaken parts of exurbia So it makes sernse to
Keep The Town in Poole!
Does anyone want to trek out to these far flung corners of the Ancient Borough. As always it will pay to follow the money and i do not think that is at Creekmoor!

I can see what you are saying but for me an out of town facility is so much easier to get to. I think if the site is redeveloped the car park would be reduced by quite a few numbers (although it was heaving Wednesday afternoon long before speedway started) You keep talking about Wimborne which is quite away out of the town centre and is always quite busy. So wouldn't be the end of the world. I just want to see Town in a nice spanking new ground which we can be proud of.

So wouldn't be the end of the world. I just want to see Town in a nice spanking new ground which we can be proud of. Just to echo what is said here, Wimborne's new ground (which, expat, you often laud as something we should aspire to) is an 8 minute drive from Wimborne Town Centre. The site at Creekmoor is a 9 minute drive from Poole Town Centre (or 11 minutes on the bus), it's hardly on the moon! A site with a main grass pitch and a 3G surface, as at Wimborne, would be ideal for us and (just as importantly regarding the training pitch) the local community, so I wouldn't hold much in your guarantee that all the Creekmoor residents wouldn't want us. Also a site that size, with 2 pitches, would take up way too much space on the stadium site where there would need to be a car park (and more importantly some housing) to make it pay. Also expat, I know you don't come 'home' too often but there are no longer any watering holes (other than The George) within a 15 minute walk of the stadium site. A ground at Creekmoor with improved drinking and catering facilities would encourage people to have their food/drink at the ground before and after the matches, bringing those much needed revenues into the club. Much as many of us would love to see The Dolphins playing on that site it simply isn't viable any longer, modern pressures dictate that it is much more likely to be somewhere (slightly) out of town. Don't become a parody of the 'old man shouts at cloud' meme and see it for what it is. Best for business and therefore best for the club.

aaaah The George. It was rumoured that on one inglorious Saturday when we lost at home in the FA Cup to Hampshire League Newport IOW that some players had been doing some pre-match lunchtime training there! As i remarked earlier BCP has recently appointed a Transport Officer who has done 22yrs with TFL and a remit for improved public transport. What will his input be on a stand alone facility without decent public transport? Yes i have been away a while but the both the Bus Station and Poole Station are within easy walking distance, as are bus routes running on Wimborne and Longfleet Rds, to a renewed Poole Stadium. When we get a derby with the auld enemies how are fans without cars getting to Creekmoor? and for those with cars are we paving paradise and putting up parking lots? Modern Pressures? Geezer that i am i thought todays emphasis was on a fitter and healthier populace and with less emphasis on a car borne society/ Doesn.t the BCP already have some of the worst traffic problems in the Country already? It may be that The Pirates will have to relocate to a facility more in keeping with the nature of Speedway but at the moment what are the economics of operating {Poole Stadium for ONE very seasonal and intrusive operation.? relocation or closure has certainly happened to many tracks in the past few years. Tatnam for all its drawbacks has a good central location but we have a limited life there, if we are to do a Wrexham I cant see it happening at somewhere like Creekmoor Incidentally Wrexham have announced their North American Tour for this summer playing MLS teams including Vancouver I wonder if our BOD is dreaming dreams!

I don't know why you mention Wrexham, expat. They are a club with a long history of playing league football. They also have Hollywood celebrity connections AND own their ground. Poole don't own a ground, NO history of league football and unfortunately, a Premier League club on their doorstep. There is no comparison.

Dollyfin do what I’ve done just Block Expat and Christopher Saunders ( same person) I along with others on here have given up try to communicate with this “ deluded” individual he never changes his stance, particularly regards the stadium being our next move, and comparing us with Wimborne etc etc, I appreciate he pays for a season ticket and is entitled to his view, so the only way left is to block if you are like me fed up with the same duplicated inane controversial and for me argumentative comments,

For those of you who want football at the higher level and the best for Poole Town
Get you BCP questionnaires and comments back to the Local Authority
Think small and you will end up small
AR mentions it in his wide ranging interview as i might have done once or twice(lol)!!
and that is
Poole is one of the largest urban areas in England without an EFL team!!
Ther best fans in the League can change that
Its never been easy but its time to.......
DO A WREXHAM!! (can you imagine that they are coming on a North American tour!)

When we get a derby with the auld enemies how are fans without cars getting to Creekmoor? and for those with cars are we paving paradise and putting up parking lots? Just to address those points directly there are 9 busses an hour that stop less than a 10 minute walk of the proposed new site (route numbers 3,4,8 and 9). This is the same length of time it takes to walk to the stadium site from the train station in Poole and less than the bus station (source: Google Maps). There is also the white elephant of the park and ride site directly across the road so the parking lot is already there if we needed extended parking, although no doubt the new site would have plenty of parking provision as well.
