We were all aware that Tom couldn't carry on forever. Wouldn't it have been more diplomatic and possibly kinder if he had been stood down before the season started?. To sack him after half a dozen games has an element of knee-jerk about it. 100% correct....

I don’t get this “too young”, “inexperienced”, “not won anything argument” from some. All great managers have to start somewhere! A change was needed imo as everything had gone a little stale and predictable. Hopefully Matt can bring a new impetus, fresh ideas and high energy to the table not to mention some discipline both on the pitch and from the touchline. The squad is good enough to play high tempo, exciting football and the game has moved on in the last 20 years so maybe the time was right. Not unusual for new owners to come in and appoint their own man. That said, the whole thing could have been handled better and Tommy should be remembered in some way for the legacy he leaves behind. Good luck Tommy, you will be sorely missed and will always be remembered as the legend you were and always will be.

Had a phone conversation with my older brother yesterday. He's 79 and a lifelong Poole Town fan who likes to reminisce about the days when Stan Rickaby was manager in the 1950s. These days he lives in France but is glued to the Poole Town Twitter feed on match days. Most years he buys me a season ticket as a birthday present. As a result of the recent unpleasantness he has decided that for the first time in his life he's lost any and all interest in the club.
Being a mere stripling of 60 some of my earliest memories are of watching Poole at The Stadium with my late father and grandfather in the mid 1960s. More recently I utilized my door supervisor licence as a steward for several seasons. However,I have decided that this will be the first season in memory that I will NOT be attending a single Poole Town match. No disrespect to Matt Tubbs. I'm just totally appalled at the utter lack of respect shown to Tom Killick by the board. It's a given that without him we would likely still be in the Wessex. He deserved better. As of the date of his sacking Poole had a better record than they did over the same period last year - when we still made the playoffs. Just pleased that Tom's last game was a victory, in the FA Cup. So he went on a winning note. I was of the belief that we were a club with integrity. Events have proven otherwise. Signing off: Poole Town fan for 57 years but no longer.

Fantastic statement Tom Poole town legend. I agree. A very generous, measured and circumspect statement from Tom K. (Thanks for the link BD)

Good to see Tom Killick back in football so quickly I wish him well in his new challenge and as always I believe he will give all and will do a very successful job at Dorchester.
