Thanks dave2 Many years ago I suggested that it would be a good idea to amalgamate (i.e. take over) Hamworthy F C. It’s in Poole and we could become, say, Poole United as a gesture to the Hammers fans. We could then develop the County Ground. The only problem being that I understand the County Ground at Hamworthy belongs to the Dorset F A. So maybe we should now explore the possibilities of joining with Wimborne or Ringwood as, say, Heart of East Dorset F C. Alternatively, we can wait for me or expat or RTS or another of Poole’s devoted fans to win the lottery - soon!

Don't worry the big announcement is still 6 months away. Nothing can be said no because of confidential stuff. Only 30 months left when we find out what is happening. Oh look a squadron of flying pigs 🐷 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷 has just taken off from Hurn!

Just past the pub on the Holes Bay Rd heading towards Poole is a turning for Sterte Rd West, follow that road around to the left and you approach a large boarded-up area of land called St Modwens park. How long it has stood derelict, who knows, but the hoardings suggest that industrial units are the plan. With similar units standing unoccupied right across the region what a shame that the land could not be put to better use. With available open space in the town fast becoming a rarity we can only guess at where we are off to next.

are we witnessing,as projected on certain social media sites, the asphyxiation, strangling, slow death, call it what you will of Poole Town Football Club? Am i alone in getting thoroughly disheartened with this bxxxxy silence nonsense? They have had a"Palace Revolution" over at the New Cuthbury(results yet to be seen) Isn't it ironic that the Capital to fund the New Magpies comes from a Poole based group? When we point to dropping attendance the enablers come up with the Weather,Covid or "had to go shopping with the missus" amongst their litany of excuses. These are desperate times for The Town and long suffering Supporters

The land that you refer to at Sterte is related to Property Developer St Modwen
Property developer St. Modwen and its dedicated housebuilding business St. Modwen Homes are continuing their partnership with Wantage Town FC this season, with St. Modwen sponsoring the team by donating £4,000 that will be used for equipment and kit for teams of all ages. The logos for both St. Modwen Homes and the developer’s Kingsgrove project in Wantage appear on the team’s home and away kit.

Thanks for the info regarding St Modwens and Wantage FC Dave. Doesn't seem right that an outside body should end up with ownership of a valuable plot of land within the Borough of Poole. Bit like the Stadium really.

Thanks for the info regarding St Modwens and Wantage FC Dave. Doesn't seem right that an outside body should end up with ownership of a valuable plot of land within the Borough of Poole. Bit like the Stadium really. Think you'll find quite a few companies & people who live outside Poole own land & property here. At least it ain't as bad as Devon & Cornwall, where whole villages lie dormant at this time of year, as the scurge that is 2nd home syndrome. At least the fact they have an interest in football maybe they could help. After all isn't a football ground basically a very big wharehouse but without a roof. Perhaps they could let us have at a reasonable price some of the site for our future, now that interest from BCP seams to be waning. When it was just BOP we had hope. Now with the new set up, power & resources will all be sucked to the centre. Whenever the next council elections are, we need a proper Poole Party, to represent us. Not the normal LibDemLabCon we have at present. We need a party that represents all the people of Poole & not just the usual interests of the same old tired system.

Dave, we have been supported and let down by politicians from all parties although in hindsight the Branksome Wreck fiasco was a blessing, it floods worse than Tatnam used to.
Bearwood was not the fault of either the Club or the Council, as I remember it, grants from the Football Foundation were halved leaving a hole tge size of Ronaldo’s weekly wage in the finances. We do have to remember that there is no sugar daddy (nor should there be) and that while we are shackled by Planning restrictions at Tatnam, we have no other income except gate money and sponsorship. I believe we have had benefactors helping in no small way in the past but for now we must live within our means.
Next Spring will be two years since the supposed unveiling of our plans, the big announcement although in hindsight maybe signing Tony Lee was A big announcement. Seriously though we need to face facts, firstly we could not currently sustain a promotion push and on the off chance that we did, we could not survive in the National South with the current budget.
Secondly the real Big Announcement cannot come too soon and if delayed beyond the end of March 2022 will cause even more disillusion amongst the supporters. On the bright side, we only need about 15 points to be safe from relegation.

Unfortunately John with your summation in the last two paragraphs you are 100% correct!! Thank you for your realism. Makes one feel a little sad though. HOPE is what we need!!
