After the debacle of the European Super League, the Government Department responsible for Sport, the DCMS, has instigated a review of the whole structure of football in England. The review covers the Premmier League down through the division to the Wessex League and below. Now they want the fan's input. You can have your say at thefsa.org.uk/news/fan-led-review-have-your-say/

Just a bit more information on the Fan Led Review of football. This has MP Tracey Crouch at its head and despite her active political career she is deeply involved in football at real grassroots level. People advising Tracey include the Football Supporter's Association and fans from several non league clubs. Although started as a reaction to the European Super League Fiasco.
There have been major contributions from clobs from Bury, North Ferriby United and Braintree as well as many other fans from around England.
Subjects discussed include covenants on football pitches/grounds,Golden Shares to prevent agressive/commercial takeoversleading to loss of facilities, fan representation on the board etc.
There seems to be a feeling amongst those I have heard that more money should be shared by the Premier League to all levels of the pyramid and that both the Football Foundation and National Leagues are not fit for purpose.
Some of the recommendations so far may well be impractical.
Those of you that know me will be aware that Blue is not my favourite colour politically but what I have seen of Tracey Crouch, the way she probes and understands that game,I am hopeful that she will produce a balanced amd fair report. What will change is anyone's guess.

It is a balanced view of what was said when I was in meetings. However there is a problem. FIFA (quite rightly) have suspended nations where the state interfered with the running of the National FA. Apointing a body above the FA could cause problems.

Am I right in thinking that the German model (51% fan ownership) was ruled out John?

I don't think any ownership model is being proscribed or promoted Brian but the idea is to have restrictions on things like relocation, ground sale, change of badge/shirt colour. Either a golden share to preevnt any of these things plus stadium sale/change of ownership. Financial fairplay will also be looked at.
