I see that the NLS season has been made Null and Void whilst the NL season will continue with no relegation.
I imagine that makes the decision for the Step 3 League fairly easy? Assuming there will be no promotion into step 2 we will surely N&V as well?
Also Weymouth can breathe a huge sigh of relief if there is no relegation into the NLS.

I expect you’re right WelshDolphin. Why don’t we ever get luck like Wimborne and Weymouth? Like losing the play offs or finishing outside a promotion place and still being promoted or, as seems likely in the Terras’ case, finishing in a relegation slot and staying up. Good luck to them both of course but it must be our turn soon. Next season. COYD

That is the season over, for sure. If there is no relegation from the National South, then there can be no Step 3 (and logically no Step 4 or any tier below). I'm disappointed this has happened, but tempered with a little optimism that with the Covid cases dropping hugely and everyone getting vaccinated, that hopefully we will get a full season next year. I hope every league has the common sense to start next season extra early though - that way, if the season runs into any difficulties, then hopefully a full season can be completed.
I am sure I am not alone in craving the return to normality. Hope when everything starts again that our pitch isn't waterlogged for half a season.

Great optimism but alas there will have to be a new normal, probably unlike we've seen before. I appreciate the vaccinations will have been administered but as ive had Coronovirus I hope that things aren't rushed. I do not wish the disease on anyone as it's awful.... And yes the pitch will more than likely be under water too!!!

Glad to hear that you have recovered Steve47. somebody sent me an image of snowdrops coming up over there (in Scotland!!) so we must always "look on the bright side of life" As PTFC supporters we know that the way has never been easy(getting biblical isn't it??) BUT we have been promised....so keep the faith. I hope that wherever and however, as long as we can see a PTFC team run out out onto a home field we will have done that!
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOwn
Anyway, here from my 76yr old memory is a great defence that i witnessed at the Stadium
Kirk,Rickaby,Drinkwater McCourt,Martin,Cumner
Horace Cumner played for Wales in 1939!! Came to Poole originally as a left winger(!!) but in the mid 50s age was catching up with him so he made a very successful conversion to half back. He later played for Swanage. Jimmy Drinkwater must have been a cricketer because his offside shout to the linesman was "owzat" Frank McCourt was a N.Ireland international. Very talented wing half Dennis Martin was a former Boscombe player who was as steady as a rock and a firm favourite of the fans

Steve47; I am, and I'm sure all Dolphins fans will be, relieved to know that you have recovered. And you're quite right to advise us not to rush things in the future. Moving too fast, and not moving at all at the start, has caused serious problems and a dreadful cost to many, many people.
expat; you are nearly as long in the tooth as I am but your memory appears to be somewhat sharper than mine. Who could forget John Kirk, in goal for 'The Town' for so many seasons? And Horace Cumner, another good-humoured and well loved player. I can still recall a Poole fan near me saying "Where's the winger?" as the ball soared cross field. "Back here," shouted Horace as he strove to catch up. That was even before the positional change you described had occurred. As for Stan Rickaby, ex West Brom and player manager, I saw him sitting on a bench in Poole Park one day but - being a gauche teenager at the time - I didn't dare approach the great man. My powers of recollection fail with the other three but thanks for the memories.
