I do not follow the Premier L eague that closely. Keeping an eye from afar on PTFC keeps my old mind busy. BUT has football gone mad with all this VAR stuff. Look there are plenty of times when the REF could be lynched especially in a close home loss but i hope non league football does not go down that route. THEN I read teat Gareth Bale is pulling down 600,000 a week. From what I read his best days are behind him. Remembering that Chorley match it seems to me that NL football encourages and receives a lot more honesty ....Now about that New Stadium!!

I try not to follow The League of Greed” too closely as well expat. Whilst conceding that many of the players are very skilful and, often, their careers are relatively short, there is something sadly wrong with a society that pays one footballer in one week enough money to pay over 20 nurses for a year.

I read today that the European Super League is no more. Thank goodness! I hope it never raises its ugly, and greed-ridden, head again! Meanwhile, roll on next season and getting back to inspiring our long-serving top man and his team to promotion! COYD
