[ PLEASE don't shoot the messenger ] We have this morning received an email from the FA telling us that is COMPULSORY for us to display the NHS COVID-19 QR code [ no other, not evepass, not anything else ] and we MUST get all people visiting the BlackGold Stadium to scan the code as they come in. If you don't have a smart phone with the app installed then we have to manually take your details. You will need to download the NHS COVID-19 app before you arrive at the stadium. The icon for the app is a blue square with the NHS logo and under it COVID-19. There are lots of others trying to pretend they are this one - but this app is called 'NHS COVID-19' No point me adding any more as all I know is what I have just read in this link! If you have any questions - I am sure the link will answer it for you. If not - then feel free to pose the question here and I'll see what I can do. GOv UK link

I think the app goes live on Sept 24th, I have it written in my Filofax as that’s the one being trialled in a couple of areas!

Sorry Pippa. I'm not shooting the messenger BUT I also refuse to download anything that will give this gang of thieves access to my phone. I'll take the manual route.

I've put my money where my mouth is and volunteered to be the access point for manual T&T data entry on Saturday. Poor Pippa has put soooo much effort into making us covid compliant for the game and gets unnecessary rules like this thrown at her despite the fact that she had everything in place.

It is sad that we have contact details for everyone that has bought tickets and now have to add a second redundant layer of tracing.

The club are certainly sticking to the restrictions which is good and more than i can say for Beaconsfield on Saturday.

The league have today sent this link - you may already have read it ( or ignored it) it just gives a little more detail of the App that you can (or not) download to a phone ( as long as it's not an old one or a latest version of Huawei handsets ) BBC News link with details of the NHS COVID-19 app

***** STAND DOWN ****** [ if you were ever stood up that is ]
We have just been sent this [ AFTER we were sent the email containing the link to the BBC News item ]
" Clubs are at this stage just required to register and display their QR code by 24th September, the app is not yet functional and Government will make, I am sure, national announcements when it is. Until then Clubs will need to continue their current test and Trace process. The legal requirement was to have the QR poster registered, downloaded and put up in venues by tomorrow. "
Watch this space for the next exciting announcement in this saga.
Meanwhile I go back to writing out 114 season tickets - if you are low down in the list - the writing may not be as neat as if you are number 1. There again - number one is not likely to be neat either...
