Oddly this could be good for us. If there are talented players in the area that are not good enough to be playing NL Step 1 the next obvious choice is here rather than travel too far to play Step 2.
Perhaps a few more of Bournemouth's youngsters might come here if they're not up to National League standard?

That could have been us in 2017, sadly the ground let us down. Still we live in hope of that BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, which is always 6 months away in the future. 😉 COYD 🐬

Congratulations to the Terras, tinged with green that we never got the chance. Thank you. Back to back promotions are unbelievable. Please get your ground issues sorted! Then gain your place in the National league set up. Can't see it happening any other way. Good luck for the coming season

Rumors about tonight that TK may have applied for the Weymouth job. Hope they are false. Or if true they choose someone else.

Choirboy you should be on the Echo Team because you come up with the scoops. interesting thing is that Bradley Asagba who the Terras have named as interim Manager was once a player for Poole Borough! May we live in interesting times!!

Rumors about tonight that TK may have applied for the Weymouth job. Hope they are false. Or if true they choose someone else. I wish he'd applied for and got the Southend job! 😏 he would not have got it of course and that is a blessing for both Tom and Poole Town. I also think it would be a blessing if he does not get the Weymouth job and I will tell you why.
Weymouth have done fantastically well over the last few seasons under Mark Moseley. He did waht Tom did, took a Dorset team from Southern League Champions to a playoff place in the NLS. Sadly the limitatitons of our stadium stole our chance of back to back promotions.
Back on Planet Earth, it would have been a disaster for us to reach the National League at that stage. Financially we could not have supported a part time team in a full time league. In addition back to back promotions do not allow the consolidation that clubs need at each level.
Although Weymouth are in a better position financially than Poole were to make a fist of National League status, things are against them. The personal link with AFCB has gone, they will have one of the smallest budgets in the league and will probably be favourites for an immediate return to the NLS. Players that got you to the NLS will not all be good enough (part of the consolidation process is the process of squad strengthening over a number of seasons). In fact some of them may not have ben good enough for the NLS long term but first season is never a good indicator. I suspect this also occurred to Mark Moseley when he took the Southend job.
Please don't think this is a dig at Weymouth, it is a real effort to inject some realism into the debate. There are a number of good reason why Tommy Killick should not take the Weymouth job, even if offered. However reason is not a valid currencty in football, at any level, so we will see.
I wish you well next season and would love to play you at Step 1, so go and prove me wrong.

Rumors about tonight that TK may have applied for the Weymouth job. Hope they are false. Or if true they choose someone else. All this must be getting to me! I dreamt that I met Tom last night just after a Dolphins match had been called off and he told me he'd got the Weymouth job. On the plus side, in the same dream, I was on my way to play for the reserves! Can anyone interpret this dream now that Freud is dead?

Itoo am worried that we may have got promotion to early but are you gonna turn it down? i am worried that the club can,t really afford it but the current board are sensible and wont risk the long term future of the club if we get relegated so be it,i thought we,d struggle in the natinal south last year so what do i know?

Yes Freud is dead PTFC however is alive and with the great support evidenced by this forum and by our COVID efforts we will not only survive but flourish as part of the revitalisation(badly needed) of the Old Town. We are not a Branksome Rec. Bearwood football team We are Poole Town FC and our home is in the heart of Poole COYD

Of course if TK takes it (I hope he doesn't) Eddie Howe is now available to take over at Tatnam. 🤔😉 Sorry Blackgold!

It is quite possible that Weymouth will be stretched considerably to compete in the NL as a part time club. I think that's a given. Right now I'd take one place above the relegation zone at the end of the season. However....this whole Covid business is going to have some pretty major repercussions. Already Dover have put there entire squad on the market. I don't want to see other teams suffering financially, but I'll bet Dover won't be the only ones shedding players, cutting budgets, even requesting relegation. I believe the Weymouth directors have been fairly financially astute. They'll have a workable and sensible budget for a part time team so I don't think Weymouth will fare as badly as some others. Anyway, we have a bit of upward momentum, team spirit and winning mentality. Looking forward to the challenge, facing new teams and some big names. Bring it on !
