HH. Re Big Announcement Tomorrow Its something akin to the sign in american bars Free Beer Tomorrow! or...Harry seeks to buy club or...PTFC to return to Stadium(parking that is!!) or...PTFC storm to first DPL Derby win over Boro at Turlin Moor Don't worry lads Brian and I are getting the boots out...do those studs still need to be knocked in? at least mine have ankle support and genuine leather too..its the knees I'm worried about!

Great post expat! Made me smile. Don't worry too much about your knees, I've had one of mine replaced already and I can still walk, ride my bike and - sometimes - break into a fairly impressive limp. Besides, I've still got a couple of those elasticated knee supports I bought second hand from Harry Merrit or it might have been Horace Cumner. Meanwhile, COYD

If they wanted to & could remain Covid compliant, many clubs could open their bars yesterday. As I say only if they wanted to of course. We couldn't because of our non matchday planning restrictions. So other clubs could gain a some revenue, if they wanted too, but we had no opportunity to do so.

Let's face it one of the many big announcements we would like to hear about is when & if season 2020/21 will start. The Isthmian League have published on their website that October (no exact date) is looking likely. They also currently plan to hold the league's AGM on Saturday 1st August. Nothing from the other two Step 3 leagues yet though. The FA have also said that last season's Trophy & Vase will be completed with both finals due to take place at Wembley. Again no actual dates given. In addition the FA have said that last season's competitions must be completed before the ones for 2020-21 can start. So things are starting to move if only slowly. Of course all this depends on DCMS advice & no second wave.

The 3 Leagues have seemed to try and fall in line with each other in terms of organisation recently (they discussed how to 'shut down' the Leagues) so it wouldn't surprise me to see the Southern League look to go to October as well if that is what the Isthmian are aiming for.

Notice buried in the email yesterday was the news is that the big announcement re the club's ground future is as ever 6 months away. Seems to have been 6 months away for about 3 seasons now! Ho hum I suppose one day the years of many 6 months will be over! But until then some music.. WE ARE THE BLACK & GOLD ARMY!

I wouldn’t take what it implies at face value, I’m sure there is a simple explanation, by the way Expat I was only joking.

There is a completely simple explanation--it is an application to consolidate a number of permissions into one and does not involve any further development.

sorry chris ,must of read the letter from the BCP COUNCIL wrong. No I don't think you mis-read it Cheeseo - it is written in a very ambiguous way! I received the standard notice letter ( as will everyone who has made a comment on previous PTFC applications) What is says is: " Retention of existing buildings and use for football ground Including minor amendments - new seated stand, sponsors room and toilets. " This clearly says to me that the plan is for '....minor amendments - new seated stand sponsors room and toilets' This is absolutely not the case! This is simply to consolidate previous plans submitted. Chris is going to follow up with the architect/plan submission people. [ BTW I wish I could amend the subject title of this thread - or stop adding to it so it can filter down the thread list :-) ] Planning website link

I am led to believe that greyhound racing has been suspended at the Stadium. Are they racing them at Swindon?. With speedway also put off indefinitely it would be handy if the promoters (or council) could put the public in the picture as to how they view proceedings at Wimborne Road, and what their ideas and thoughts are on its long term future.

I checked it out recently and I believe that racing has resumed there. There is a new or renewed Stadium(Abbey?) coming in shortly and there is a debate as to whether Greyhound Racing should be continued. some people are suggesting that better use could be made of such a Stadium by providing facilities for human outdoor sport. Sound Familiar? So BCP council has to decide whether Dog Racing is consistent with its values. A 3G pitch at the Stadium together with Athletic facilities = Year round use. NEVER SAY NEVER!!

I don't know how much a 3G pitch would cost BUT if say PTFC agreed to pay at least some of the cost would some punters be prepared to contribute. Expat has his hand up!

Tie a BlackGold ribbon round the Old Oak Tree!! I can remember the supporters Club Stand being erected on the Wimborne Rd side used to check its progress as i cycled by every day What a proud day when that Poole Town Football Club logo went up at the south end Anyone got any images??
