From the Southern League:
" Further to discussions this afternoon, a decision has been taken that ALL BETVICTOR SOUTHERN LEAGUE matches will be postponed between Saturday 14th and Saturday 21st March inclusive. Therefore, there will be no matches taking place tomorrow (Saturday), next midweek or Saturday 21st March. A review of the situation will take place next Friday, 20th March and you will be notified of the decision as soon as I am able to do so regarding the continuation or otherwise of the competition from Monday 23rd March. In respect to the end of season date, that currently remains as Saturday 25th April but I shall update you should there be any changes to that. "

Thanks for the update Pip, our luck just isn't in, if it's not the weather it's broken down busses or worldwide viruses!
There is no way that they can postpone it just for a week though. Things will likely be worse than they are now in terms of pandemic spread by the end of next week and then the week after that.
As for not extending the season and expecting everyone to cram fixtures into what is already a packed schedule that is just daft, but when could we ever rely on the Southern League to make sensible decisions?!

It's looking like the Southern League season could be at its end as the medical advisers believe the Corona virus will peek around Easter time hope I'm wrong but just cannot see us finishing the season!!!! I guess under circumstances it's only a game.

If the league choose to end the season now this is how the league table would look on a points-per-game basis:

Why are all Southern League games being called off when all National League games which have bigger attendances are still being played ?

Also Northern Premier League games go ahead as normal. Southern League also season WILL finish on Saturday 25th April. Can't see it. Probably to late to reverse decision now for tomorrow. But hopefully not for next weekend.

Take it from me the League is finished for this season. There will be NO Promotion or Relegation and the season will be VOID in the annuals.

The club's recent trials and tribulations reminds me of this advert posted in a shop window. " Missing dog, only three legs, no tail, blind in one eye, and walks with a limp. Answers to the name "Lucky".

The current Season is due to end 25th April no game till 23rd March = PTFC have15 games left to play {same as Hartley) = a game every 2.2 days??? From Players who have full time jobs, etc I somehow don’t think the league can really expect that to happen? I assume an extension of sorts must be in order?

Why are all Southern League games being called off when all National League games which have bigger attendances are still being played ? Heady days weren't they.A hard fought promotion to the NLS then a couple of seasons later another end of season cliffhanger as we waited for other teams results to rescue us and of course that did not happen. can you believe it;we were in the NLS and the Terras were in the Southern League. The Pride of Dorset our signs proudly stated we are currently stuck in the Tatnam mud and only the BOD know where we are going(and they are not telling) The faithful need a declaration Why are we paying season tickets.giving donations etc when we cannot be trusted with this information

Expat don't worry yourself about the Poole Town demise this season. As I said earlier on this thread the season is finished. No more games will be played. Have an extra Jack Daniels and get back to your isolation Ice Lake Fishing.

from a financial POV it is probably better for us that the season ends now. The figures do not need an accountant! although not recognising concessions.
Our "home" games @ Dorchester vs Beaconsfield Att 150 @ 10pound per head 1500 Weymouth vs Slough Att 1570 @ 15pound per head 23550
How can we compete for better players when this is a fact???

Expat, your clueless, a club with contract players of which we have many!! still need to be paid as per their contract length, no game = no income, I remind you we still have 15 home games to play, how are clubs going to do this, can your accountant help or advise? ( please don’t mention the stadium as the answer to this situation) Many clubs bigger and smaller than us will seriously struggle to survive this period, ( Bigger clubs have bigger wages, it’s all relative)

IMHO the season is over; Contract players? OK. Will we have the money to keep or attract quality players for 2020/21. Weymouth seem to have no trouble; Baggie-Bell being a recent example. Can you argue that the Terras are going in one direction and we are going in the other?? Since you mention BOPSA it is lights out there by the sound of it. BTW did you know that nearly 1000 greyhounds die in the course of a season, and then there's the 5000 or more that are put down before they even make the racing grade. What kind of human endeavour and skill is on display at greyhound racing on a race meeting night?? Someone mentioned that one time there were cycle races at the Stadium..now that is skill and endurance and spectator friendly. ....and the theory is that areas with high pollution counts will be more susceptible to COVID. Has anyone ever done An AQ check in the vicinity of Wimborne Rd on a speedway night. Methinks twould not be pretty!!

What Money??? The club has no money and no means to pay the current contracted players, you really have no idea the trouble PTFC and many other clubs are in, due to lack of revenue yet you bang on about Weymouth, the situation is critical, wake up and smell the coffee not your Whiskey 🥃 , you wonder why people just scoff at your constant drivel, the reality is will we still have a club never mind a new ground and a stronger team, next season.

but if we are playing at Tatnam we can look forward to more of the same??? Cancelled matches.Appeals and hopefully a mid table spot. By your own table published above we did not do enough this season to warrant even getting into the Playoffs if the season ends now. Losing or drawing against teams in the lower echelons will do that to you!!

The last time I was at The Stadium expat (not long ago) most of it was in a fairly ramshackle state. It would require the removal of the dog track (and I agree with much of what you said about the iniquitous treatment of the dogs), the removal of the speedway circuit, major renovation and rebuilding of the spectator accommodation, toilets and food outlets (barring the new stand) in all, a multi-million pound project. I'll join your campaign when I've won the Euro Lottery. I sometimes suspect that you keep it up for fun or out of a whimsical need to irritate certain of us, or maybe it's just nostalgia. Good luck to you anyway because I think you're a loyal Poole man and a true Town fan.

Another load of drivel from expat coming up!! whatever happened to that developer Eddie(??) we had on board a couple of seasons ago? he forecast a new Stadium for PTFC somewhere very close to the old one. Even had the google maps! ...and then.. have any of our intrepid investigators been up to Branksome Rec to see all the improvements that were going to be made once they got PTFC out of the way? cllr Eades was going to win awards for his forward thinking on that issue ...and then.. out beyond the asteroid belt there was a new star called Bearwood. Barely in the ancient Town and Borough would be correct. seeing as we all now have tons of time on our hands why not a little guessing game on our new home??. I predict across the water by a lofty bridge It can.t be Turf(sorry!!) Turlin Moor because I read that they are thinking of building on that too!! Poole Borough may be looking for a new home as well, Shelter in place!!

I'm told it is in Poole not far from where we are but can't think where? I've always had my eye on the land between Holes Bay Rd and the railway which is only about a quarter of a mile west of Tatnam. Not sure how 'wet' this would also be though given its proximity to the water so wouldn't solve our postponement issues. If not there then land just north of Upton Country Park between the A350 and the Sourh Western end of Creekmoor, near the park and ride is ideal.
