You may have seen already on Twitter that, due to all the recent rain, and with no idea of the next few days, we will be playing our home fixture against Beaconsfield at the Clayson Stadium Dorchester.
It will be treated just like a home game at BlackGold - so turnstiles, season tickets, programmes, 50 50 sales etc will all need to go ahead.
We are trying to contact all of our match day volunteers to confirm that they are able to get to Dorchester and are happy to work as usual.
There may be a need for us to call on additional volunteers, if you feell you might be able to help - please do let me know - either on this thread or privately.
Good to see a fixture fulfilled. This is good news for the faithful Sad though that PTFC are reduced to using other clubs facilities and unlikely to bring back those missing punters Is this going to happen next season as well?
I guess it's damage limitation not completing our league games would be seen to be breaking Southern league rules with the possibility of expelling the club just as the Tonbridge fc Chairman said last week also I'm guessing that for every home game played on a neutral ground we might incur a fee (not quite sure how that one works) so yes we are up against it all the way. But it's better than 2nd option no Southern league next season!!!!
Yesterday the FA in their infinate wisdom turned down the Western League request to extend their league season beyond 25th April. They see no harm in semi professional footballers playing three maybe four matches a week, as well as doing their other job. So we have just got to get on with it as no help is coming from those charged with the welfare of the game & those who play it.
The weather for the next week appears to be largely sun & showers, with no prolonged period of rain. If this plays out, how confident are the club that the match versus Hartley & Wintney will take place at Tatnam? As I am looking forward to ending our 100% record against them of played 5 lost 5!
