We are three-one down when we should have had this matter settled on Saturday. I don't think that plum will be landing near Tatnam

1-3 down. This has a feel of deja vu. Big crowd, important match so we lose it - again! Oh well, on to the league!

Big games, big crowds big occasions, we choke. Whitley Bay, Gosport, Corby, St Neots, Staines, Haringey and now Hayes & Yeading for the 2nd time. Same sh1t different year.

BD you missed Bath City and Whitehawk. Back to the faithful few on saturday, but looking on the positive side, parking will be easier.

Clearly we should have put this contest to bed last Saturday. However, fair play to Hayes for making the most of their reprieve. A nippy and skillfully side, their current league position is a false one.
I thought we were poor in the first half. Our only tactic was go punt the ball towards the right channel, which clearly wasn't working. Cope, Baker and Leslie-Smith were getting little or no service on the left but when they did they were finding space.
Despite some cracking goals from Hayes over the course of the game i thought we improved in the second half. Amused to see Luke Cairney floating between two stunned Hayes players, who must have assumed he would just kick to distance. Deserved his goal for his "Nothing to lose/never say die" attitude! Had we scored 10 minutes earlier I think we would have been in with a very good chance of an equaliser. Pluses: we've still had a good cup run, swelling the coffers a bit. Also Tivvy lost again and Sailsbury drew last minute, which helps our league challenge enormously.
Good luck to Hayes in the next round!

Surprised the Echo didn't use the headline...
Lights Go Out On Poole's FA Cup Hopes.
But there you go!

I look on the league as being a piece of sponge cake that we can have all year around. The FA cup is that nice cake with thick icing on the top. Trouble is every time we go to eat the last piece on the table some spoil sport takes it off the plate.

One of the main reasons that we lost last night was that they managed to pass the ball to their own players...unlike one of our midfield players who probably struggled to pass water.

Yes,as the Bishop said to the Actress its now or never. Lets put someone up front and run at them And did the bishop always collapse at the final hurdle? Only in Carry On films. 📽️😉

Trying to get a handle on why we have a problem in the biggest of big games. Is the larger crowd too noisy? Hope not. Is it that the players individually & as a try and play a perfect game instead of their normal natural one? Like us fans, they really should enjoy this massive games more than they appear too. Then maybe we will start to win a few of them too. Meanwhile on to Hartley Wintney, back down to the usual faces. Also maybe a few of those won't be able to afford the full £12 admission price, as we have had a run of away games, followed by a home match everyone has had to pay for. But then again the club needs every pound & penny it can get too. So maybe it can't afford to lower prices on Saturday, as of course in the FA Trophy, the visiting club (financially in a similar boat to us) & the FA (currently in on of those vessels made by Sunseeker & plenty left over for a few more nice toys!) also take a cut. Still win or lose we pick up some prize money. Not much though I would think. COYD 🐬

Or £850 if we lose. Only played them twice, but Hartley Wintney are a side we are yet to draw with. Let alone actually win one. Hopefully Saturday will change that. With a win, not a draw. Want to be at home to Salisbury on Tuesday, not traveling to their gaff.

But if you need cheering up: Truro just lost 2 nil at Taunton. Top 2 teams on 29pts, Poole on 23 and FOUR games in hand. Not fun having a backlog but it's in our hands....

We’ve 4 games in hand on four of the top five clubs and 3 in hand on Salisbury (4th). On top of that we’ve 4 in hand on Gosport (7th, one place below us) and 3 in hand on the 8th and 9th placed clubs and 4 in hand on 10th and 11th. It looks quite rosy. All we have to do is keep winning league games and use cup competitions for practice, experiments giving peripheral players and reserves a go and so on. COYD

For one thing we need to shake up the flakey and leaky back four, Carney doesn't deserve the over exposure he is getting . What about giving Smeeton and Jackson a shout !!!!
