“Saturday 12th October Black Gold Stadium Tatnam Road/Stanley Green Road 3.00pm. That is the day time and venue for anyone who hasn’t had the privilege of seeing table topping Poole Town FC continue their promotion push to take up the Club’s offer of “pay what you want” to secure admission to the Southern League Premier Division South fixture v Beaconsfield. Our attendances this season have been up on the same period last year and rightly so-the team have been regularly producing the goods and our regular supporters have been thoroughly enjoying the football on display and of course the victories that have taken us to the top of the league. To sustain a promotion challenge, still more to sustain a place in the National League South (assuming our goal of promotion is achieved), requires a solid financial base. For that we need to increase our match day revenue so I appeal to all our fans to really push the offer the Club is making so that we get a much higher attendance than normal and that we win over many of those newcomers so that they then turn into regulars.
With regard to the admission offer-we are obviously hoping that most will still pay the usual prices of £12 for adults £8 for concessions £5 for u18s and £1 for accompanied u13s. In the past on these occasions many have paid more than the usual price by way of an additional donation to the cause and that of course is always so very welcome.
The offer is part of the celebration of “National Non-League Day”,promoted once a year during an International break weekend, to advertise the incredible depth of good quality football available in the country-unsurpassed anywhere in the world. Football supporters who think no further than the Premier League are encouraged to try the quality on their doorstep—it may well open up their eyes to the entertainment available locally at modest cost with none of the hassle associated with getting to and from the professional games.”
