Agreed - excellent start to the season. If not for the controversial penalty we would be unbeaten. Long way to go yet!

It’s been difficult to keep up with the questions across twitter Facebook and here but I’ve seen questions about only having 3 on the bench. Unfortunately Jake Cope was due to be with us but on his way to the ground he was taken Ill. Apart from that - Adam Grange and Tavares are both injured and Carmichael is suspended. Also I’ve seen questions about the inclusion of reserve team players. There is great harmony between reserves manager (Paul Turner) and Tom and they had discussions yesterday around player selection. At that point Tom thought Jake Cope was available and with today’s reserve game - they agreed on the players for each team. It was a concern when Will pulled up and had to be replaced but Sam Jackson came on and played a great game - it was good to see him show what he can do in a meaningful game. A great feeling coming back home with 3 points.

Thx Pippa. We all want the Reserves to be able to groom players for the big step up and our future success depends on those players that can step into the breach. COYD ...both teams!!! btw how did the Reserves fare today?

Thank you Pippa for your reply on the forum regards lack of subs today. Firstly we all do hope Jake is feeling better and he has a full recovery and of course all our other injured first team players are back asap. Having been involved with running a reserve side myself at Ishmian league level i do appreciate it goes hand in hand with the first team set up but as you mentioned it can be difficult when last minute plans get disrupted. Regards todays result it sounds like it was our hardest test so far so congrats to all. COYD

Great result! Sorry I couldn’t be there today to provide radio commentary or run the twitter. Pippa has done an excellent stand in job in updating us with the score. Well done all

The Reserves were desperately unlucky yesterday.
A mixed first half followed by a dominant 2nd half, recording over 23 attempts on goal during the game.
Agree with Pippa's comments 100% - The alignment, harmony and engagement between the First Team and The Reserves has never been stronger.
Tom and The Reserves management discuss player inclusion, for each and every game.

Great report from RTS. Also thought yesterday was the best performance of the season so far. Also that Swindon Supermarine were the best side we have faced this season. If they play like that most weeks they will win more than they lose. This goes for the Dolphins as well as the Wiltshire side. Great to be top of the table for a fortnight, but the only time that really matters will be about 5pm on Saturday 25th April 2019. COYD 🐬

You’re right Dave! A brilliant match report from RTS. Thanks Rob. Right, again, Dave. It’s great to see ‘the Town’ at the top - long may it last. COYD

In the interests of openness I must advise that I have complained to Chris Reeves (via email) regarding the match report of this game written by Rob Sowerby and appearing on the official website, with regard to his comment “xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx”.
1). Everybody must surely recognise the extremely divisive political situation we are currently in and Rob Sowerby therefore knew exactly what he was saying, the political point he was making and how it might be received.
2). This was not posted on an unofficial forum but on the official website.
3). The football club, as a venue, is a place (arguably the only one) where politics can be put aside.
4). The football club, as an entity, should not engage in making political statements.
This is not an exact copy of the email I have sent to Chris but pretty close to it.
I admit, my own feelings towards “the club”, despite many great friendships with many of its supporters is currently at an all time low and this has certainly not helped.

Cliff Goddard (aka Sgt Wilson) In the interests of openness (and balance) can I say to Rob that I thought it was a great line which made me chuckle. I think that in what are difficult times (no matter what your political point of view) if we lose our sense of humour we have nothing left. Sometimes you won't agree with a joke and sometimes you will and sometimes we should be prepared to laugh at either yourself or those that you support. The same goes for this I think, I'm disappointed to see that the report has changed given that it was clearly written in humour. Obviously the club supports Boris, Brexit and everything that comes with it and this is terrible!!!* *Removes firmly placed tongue from cheek!
