In the. First 10 minutes it looked a bit disorganised as to be expected with the players missing however the last 10 minutes they become more of an attacking force and had several corners and have been unlucky with Sam Griffin hit the post with a good header

We looked very disinterested. ok average for 1st 20 mins but second half was atrocious and when we travel all that way and get that performance I very rarely leave early but today I did when players don’t give 100% why should we!

I hope the players can regain their best form for the remainder of the season, I think the coming closed season will be crucial with several experienced signings will need to be made if the club wants to get back to the National League South within two seasons.

Phil I think the payers were exasperated. Clearly we did not get going in the first 15 mins but after the goal we dominated the last half hour of the first half. Had Sam Hriffin’s hesder gone in we would have been level at half time. The ref wad appalling. He was bullied by their players and the crowd and even had the link wondering what was going on.
The second goal was a killer. Looked to me that the keeper was fouled and their forward took the loose ball and passed it into an empty net. That killed us.There were some poor performances and bad decision making by our players and their players got away with a lot. Ironically we picked up more yellows.
It was not good enough today and it was hard to watch but being without Spetch, Moore, Cairney and Roberts took a toll.

Here we go with the ref bashing, what happened to the reply to BD the other day about looking at refs in a different light? I think its just when we are good we are great and when we are bad we are awful, stop the silly excuses of blaming the ref,our discipline record says all you need to know. The players been great lately dragging us up the league this is just a blip.

Perhaps we are just not good enough. Have to disagree. We are good enough, we are just not consistent enough over long period. Too many 4 or 5 out of ten performances and not enough 7 out of 10 over the season. I would suggest that Squad depth l, or lack of, may have a bearing. Our best eleven, when its available, will give anyone in this league a run for its money.

Perhaps we are just not good enough. Perhaps so but BD has a point too. Maybe we can’t afford a large enough squad of players of the required strength and quality. It may be worth adding that since the ill-advised reorganisation of the Southern League we are competing in a division that is rather weaker than the one we won to get into the National League South. I am a natural pessimist and I anticipate that next Tuesday we will be overtaken in the play-off race by one of the several village teams now featuring in the Southern League and, in the end, we will fall short of the play-offs. I challenge our lads to prove me wrong! COYD

Regarding the Squad - We did have a bigger squad at the beginning of the season. But because some members of the squad were not getting in the team on a regular basis they picked up their bags and went elsewhere. It is a problem to keep a bigger squad as all the players want to play and if they don't they are very unhappy. Just look at the players that have left us this season! Secondly if all the players are fit and without injury we have a really good team but when some are out through injury and suspension the team seems to suffer and many players are then playing out of position.

Leadership?? Innovation??. Lets have a cold shower and realise that if we did by some miracle make it to the playoffs we are going to be up against some strong opposition. Look at that Table. We are hearing the same refrains from the heights that we have heard many many times before. The remark that really hit home this morning was the one about us having a tough time against village sides!! Inconsistency and that disastrous run of home form has kiboshed us for this season I'm afraid(Oh of course I forgot the apparent conspiracy of match officials against us!!) We have a long way to go to regain the "Pride of Dorset" Crown. The Question is. Are we going top be in for more of the same next season??

Got to agree with Happyhammer. The reserves get more postings on here than the first team, people are singing from the rafters about them, and rightly so, so with all due respect wouldn't a couple of them have merited a place on the bench.

Reading John's email again. It costs about £350,000 per season to run Poole Town. Apart from home games, we can only get extra income from Prize Money by progressing the FA Cup and Trophy or by donations from fans or by investment by existing and new BOD members. Those who where at Chesham yesterday would have seen what we are up against. The club house there is magnificent and has almost no houses anywhere near it. These means, unlike us, they can put on events whenever they want and it is perfect for hiring for things like wedding receptions. Also even if say we could increase the budget to say £500,000 would this lead to us attracting better players than we have now who might disppear as soon as the funds dry up. All four Dorset clubs suffer from the fact once you get off the M27 the roads are slower and more hazardous, so as a result the 4 clubs I am on about are competing for the same group of local players, with whoever has the most money picking up what they want leaving the other 3 to pick from what's left. Yes yesterday what I saw was a complete disaster on the pitch from Poole Town. But until in terms of a level playing field in terms of ground facilities we will probably have to put out make shift sies due to injury, illness, suspension and work commitments in the future. Let's hope when we do management can instill more pride, passion and belief than was on show yesterday. I am ever the optimist and believe we will bounce back from this as we have others in the past. I think not only will we get to the play offs but we will win them.

Much appreciated Choirboy Dave and i believe we all understand the clubs predicament regards lack of funds and all the other pitfalls that come with it but i say again yesterday we should have been able to have a full bench and yesterday to me seemed like a shambles both on and off the pitch.A incredible 11-1 win for our reserve side or a Poole eleven at home surley taking a couple of the youngers away with the first team would have seemed to be a very sensible solution even if it meant a player or two short on there bench.Totally relevant comment if our aim is to try and bring our very good up and coming talent through and the relevant comment Choirboy Dave made regards our area and the 3 other teams well by bringing our up and coming talent through maybe we just might keep a player or two instead of them heading west or North. These could well be our further.COYD

Our best eleven, when its available, will give anyone in this league a run for its money. This is getting to be a habit but again I agree Tony. On Saturday we had 3 u18 players in the squad with the Keeper making his debut and Boote starting for the first or second time. The midfield was decimated with Jake Smeeton put into the back four when he has been excellent in midfield recently. Corby is our engine and he was missing. The whole team had a patched up look against a. team that were bang on form and we had two real subs. So the first goal was when this patched up team were settling in, The second should not have stood (in my opinion) as the keeper was fouled by the goal scorer. At two nil down we had to go for the game and inevitable we left bigger gaps at the back. Their third was a breakaway as was the fourth, you would have thought they were the away teams see were pressuring and they were counter attacking. Fifth goal was offside, no my opinion but that if the Chesham Match report writer and Chairman. Chesham is not an nice place to play, when I told my brother about the game he said “I hate going to Chesham. Always a cr@p game and they have some right chav supporters at the bigger games.”

I think Chesham is probably one of the better grounds we go to in terms of facilities and surroundings, but the pitch isn't to clever. How ever when it comes to chav supporters Slough have their fair share who probably also cross over the border from Berkshire into Buckinghamshire when ever the clubs play each other. 😉🤔

I can only go on what I saw. The lino at our end was getting exasperated with the ref, throwing his arms in the air twice that I saw. He let an awful lot go from Chesham in the first half then found the yellow card would not stay in his pocket for us. The second goal was clearly a foul, although the young keeper should have cleared it before he was bundled over and robbed of the ball. The fifth was clearly offside (source Chesham Chairman while presenting the MOTM award to the goalscorer Louis Jefferson, (he just smiled in that knowing way). Finally and in defence of officials, the aforementioned Lino was excellent, he got all the offside decisions right (too many for us really) unlike the ref.
When you are away from home, it often happens that you have to chase the game when you go behind, and yet again we were caught out on the counter attack too often.
Clear;y the second goal killed us. I feel sorry for Tom Parker-Trott, the first goal was not his fault and he was fouled for the second. On nne of the one-on-ones, he failed to come out when he should have but is suspect his confidence was shot by then.
As for the comment about the reserves, we have to be fair to the team and their management. They had a game at the same time as us and are going well in the league. It is unfair to take a player just to get splinters in his bum when he could get valuable game time. Against Merthyr the bench was completed by reserve team players and hopefully they will get some 1st Team game time soon.
Finally, far from being a mid table side, Chesham were unbeaten in 8 games at home before we visited. Theywere odds on for relegation before Christmas and have been on almost Championship winning form of late.

You cant just make stuff up and say its true. Your ref bashing is becomming legendary on here now i reckon, out of interest do you believe the ref is at fault for most of the games we score in and win? As for the reserves on the bench not sure how you can defend having taffy and mickey on the bench when we have two u18s and a reserve side makes a mockery of having a reserve side and insulting to those up and coming players. The Chesham game was just a blip we've had a few but keep bouncing back
