Not at the game, although some of the language at Dorchester would have resulted in ejection at another club.
We had a poll recently about not using aliases. That poll decided that we should be allowed to remain anonymous. However there are a few on here that are just here to cause mischief. Whether they are supporters of other clubs "stirring" or someone with another axe to grind, it spoils it for all of us.
Of course I have disagreed with many people on here but would uphold their right to disagree. They all have the club close to their hearts. There are a few though that are really trolls.
Of course I would hate to stop people putting their point of view across, this forum is unique in that Directors post and comment on here and it is a great way to keep in touch.
It is hard moderate a forum but we can report posts and if enough of us do it maybe something will happen.

Rather than accuse anyone who says anything critical of being a troll, name names and list people whose comments you think are troll like. I hate this kind of 'if you don't tow the line you are out' attitude.
I have no idea who is being labelled a troll, but I suspect it is anyone who ever says anything critical or that you disagree with.
Oh and this is from someone who doesn't hide behind an alias, but sometimes gets extreme criticism when I say something that others disagree with - we all have the right to opinions and provided these are framed respectfully and arguments don't escalate into the realm of bullying, then I don't see what is the problem with fans putting their honest opinions across.
Also to equate someone who goes online and makes what normally appear to be honestly held comments with someone swearing in a ground is farcical - they are 2 completely different things, and I think it is pretty rare to find swearing on this forum (no matter what your views on the subject, and mine is that it is a bit anachronistic to be so offended by a few Anglo Saxon phrases that you feel you can never set foot in a ground again, as some people have made clear in their posts, but if others disagree, fair enough - and again I have never sworn in a post).
Things that I see and hear in football grounds bother me too - whenever teams do badly, fans often seem to target their own black players and you still sometimes hear an overtly racist comment, or one that has racist overtones, such as referring to opposition black players as 'animals' when a bad tackle goes in. Add in casual homophobia (comments like 'Get up you poof') and the odd bit of sexism, wolfwhistling etc and football can feel like some kind of throwback for people who haven't really reached the 21st century - I feel that the swearing thing is over-rated - swearing is everywhere, on almost every comedy programme, documentaries, even in the Times newspaper that I read daily. I think it is partly generational thing - the young have grown up with swearing, but for some older people, it is very upsetting. All I can say on the swearing is that if you are bothered by the swearing by our fans (and I'm not doing it by the way), you must be outraged on a daily basis at swearing on TV programmes and on the street. It isn't a Poole Town FC problem; it is everywhere.
Anyway those are my views. Hopefully that doesn't make me a troll or a supporter of another club.

Totally agree andy. Calling people names on here ie trolls because their opinion differs to yours is no different than what you are complaining about and encouraging people to report is childish, scroll past what you dont like. I would also say where are you when expat is getting sniddy comments about his views on the reserves/stadium and pre season dealings? I dont hear your comments then. I dont tend to agree with some of the comments but its a unofficial forum not the chinese internet. Pooletownsnr views maybe at times controversial but i dont see you defending him when he is getting it back,in fact i imagine you are joining in or aiming your comments in his direction. I have also seen some of the "good guys"on here on other clubs forums in the past stirring it up.
But on another note.. Where is expat? Hope all is ok not seen you on here in a while

Well I am not talking about Expat or you Andy. Wikipedia defines a Troll as: Based on this I think pooletowwnsnr is a troll as well as wewillsee. Don't get me wrong, there are people on here I disagree with often, but they have a right to say it. I would still speak to them and buy them a pint if I met them as we are all Poole Town Supporters. Lets face it we all know better than every manager and can play better than every player in our own minds. However the two individuals above never have anything positive to say and want to cause disharmony. One of the reasons for using real names (as I have done for years) is that you know who you are replying to. Would pooletownsnr call Dan Herrington a liar to his face? No. However that is what he did on the thread about the reserves samspud.proboards.com/thread/9699/reserves-away-portchester-24-1. I could maybe concede that he is ignorant in the true meaning of the word. I did not see his original posts but he apparently edited them as s result of counter arguments later in the thread. BD,there have been times that I have disagreed on here with you but I know your's are honestly held view and I value your opinions. You have supporteed the club for years have the best imterests of the club at heart. The same goes for Expat and others. I cannot see any evidence that pooletownsnr's views are anything but provocation. I do realise the irony of the situation, a troll would relish this type of thread but it is time he was called out.

This reply is really a response to John Anderson's comments.
I think it is helpful that John has now identified which post and which user he is concerned about.
I think if you have a problem with something that someone is saying, that the best thing is to confront them online and say so, as many have done to me when I have said something controversial. I am big enough to take it and have no problem making retractions or apologies if I say something out of order.
I agree totally with you John, that we all tend to think we are experts, but both playing, managing and every other aspect of a football club, including getting pitches fit to play on, are much more difficult than most of us realise. Anyway maybe this thread has done some good.
The one thing I would say John though, is if you are calling someone a troll, be specific, identify the person and the thread, otherwise a great many other people, including me, may believe that hidden digs are being directed to them.
All of us care and want Poole to do well. We would not be on here otherwise.
