Steve Devlin is one of the most popular players ever to have appeared in our colours. We signed him from Dorchester in January 2012 paying a four figure fee for his services- something pretty much unheard of these days.To say it has been money well spent is an understatement. He has provided our supporters with so much pleasure over the years. As all Poole fans know Steve has torn a cruciate ligament- the injury all footballers dread due to its devastating impact on life and one’s ability to work let alone playing football. The club has authorised a crowd funding page for supporters to show Steve their support for him and his family at this very difficult time. It can be accessed by the following link. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/stevedevlinptfc?utm_term=pd5wBM7Wr

Feel for Devs, bloody love the guy. Scored some of the best goals I've ever seen in a red and white shirt. Home to Truro, away to Paulton and a last minute worldy away at Chippenham. Really hope Devs recovers from this COYD

Can this be in the next few programmes as a separate item apart from chris's blog, it would give it more impact? Would it be acceptable to have the details on a slip of paper with each admission ticket?

I agree with all of the comments and suggestions above. Devs has made a great contribution to PTFC and deserves to recover from this and deserves all the support we can give him. I once met Devs outside the Co-op in Upton. He won't remember that but I do!

Thank you all for your comments on here and sent to us directly. We appreciate all the messages of support. This has and will continue to have a massive impact on Steve and our family, not only financially but emotionally as well firstly for Steve as football has been his life forever and has got him through so tough times in life. But also for me and our children as you can imagine football is a very important part of our family life, now with Harry our 7 year old son who is starting his own football journey, not having daddy to be able to play and kick a ball around with him.
Steve see’s all your comments and they are appreciated massively he needs the boost to push him in getting back fit and coming back to playing football. Something over the past few weeks he has doubted will ever happen again 😢
Again thank you to everyone The Devlin family X

Wholeheartedly agree with your comments, we all know from past experiences that the supporters of this fabulous club will get behind Steve and his family... Keep that chin up, no matter how hard times get and we all look for the day when you are back in the red and white once more!

Really hope Devs recovers from this COYD Spot on BD. Been an amazing asset of the club been tempted away but bleeds red and white and stayed. We all need to get behind him and support him and his family for all he’s given us on and off the pitch. Chin up Devs I really hope you can recover stronger and don your no8 shirt again.

Bump back up. Currently stands at £623, thanks to Marilyn this should be in the next programme. Please share........
Not on only on the pitch has Steve helped us, but Hannah has done so much for the club as well, constantly turning up at my sometimes mad events, and Ethan even has a signed shirt on his wall that Hannah framed and gave to us to auction off at the End of season presentation evening, the other is in the bar. Both care so much about Poole and go above and beyond, so even if you can spare a pound please donate!

For anyone that would like to make a cash donation I will be able to accept this at the ground on Saturday. I will not be able to take any donations as I go round the ground after kick off doing the 50/50 as although I can multi task, I would rather not delay Geoffrey further!! Lisa

Yeah, Geoffrey won & handed it back I believe. Yes that's right - the winnings were £45 and Geoffrey bought the winning ticket and very kindly donated his winnings back to the club.

A further £20 cash was donated at the last game so the 'offline' total now stands at £146.56 and online £1,108 has been donated. It's great to see Steve, Hannah and family at the games cheering on the team. I am sure we all look forward to the day when Devs is back on the right side of the barrier again, being cheered on by us all.

Please keep donating. Steve has purchased an exercise bike from the kind donations so far this will help to strengthen his knee and leg muscles at home before the operation, which we hope to know when it is soon. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! X
