Yes was not able to attend but sounds like we had plenty of ball but cannot break down defences.Yet another pointless game.

A hugely frustrating game. Lots of possession and territory. Had ample chances to score, justcouldnt put the ball in the net. Not clinical enough at the moment and some of the crossing was very poor. Still a good team needing a bit of luck and belief.

I don't know if you were at the game tonight BD but it wasn't through lack of effort that we didn't hit the target. A pretty even contest and Dorchester seem like a team better than their league figure suggests.

A pretty even contest and Dorchester seem like a team better than their league figure suggests. I was at the game tonight. 1st half we were poor. Slow and ponderous in possession, toothless up front and defensively we were poor, Dorch cut us open on the break and should have been 2 up at the break if it wasn't for a brilliant save from Cairney. 2nd half was better, Perhaps we were unlucky after hitting post and bar. But i stand by my post, they could be out there for another 90mins and still not score.

Totally agree, it wasn't for the lack of effort but we just couldn't score! Crossing again was very poor. Interesting that I spied Sylvain Distin at the ground this evening - well actually in the stand chatting to Alex Pike...Wonder if something is brewing there??

What disappointed me the most last night was we were superb 1st 20 mins of the second half should have scored and that was because we used the full width of the pitch Jez and Luke had the beating of there full backs every time. And then after we had no width at all and looked clueless in unlocking Dorchs defence. We have a big pitch bloody use it as we all saw we can play football and need use the wings more. Worries me though we have no defence now tho. Hope the injuries aren’t too bad.

When you read the official match report and it finishes off with Peter saying we are now prob in a relegation fight im sure it would make every Poole supporter anxious.I say supporters becouse i still dont believe the club or management see it that way.And before any forum members out there have a go at so called negative comments.Stats do not lie!!!.COYD.

Firstly, Peter Leppington reports what he sees. There is no editing, I often do the away reports and similarly can write what I like.
What can we say about last night. Well firstly we were unlucky. Nick played better in goal last night that he did for almost a season and a half for us. Then we had the two periods where we were well on top in each half. Especially the first half where I don’t know how Dorchester kept us out. Then we lost two more defenders to injury.
So where are we? We do have players good enough to get out of the league but at the moment they seem to have little confidence as a team. They are not curreny playing as a team. Players holding on to the mall too long. Trying to play too fast rather than slow the game down until in the danger zone.
The players could probably do with more time training rather than playing every week but we will have two games a week until February so that is out of the question. Clearly we miss a strong leader on the field and maybe we need to give some thought to changing the starting line-up.
Incidental I often give officials a hard time but the Ref and his assistants last night were excellent.

Whilst I agree with most of your comments John not sure being unlucky is one I do. Yes you lost a couple of players to injury and yes that was unfortunate but it is also part and parcel of the game; it happens. The biggest problem as to why you are getting so many injuries is the players have too demanding a schedule atm having a backlog of games. Players are not getting any recovery time between games to allow their bodies to refresh!
You don’t know how Dorchester kept you out? Through passion, good organisation and desire to throw themselves at everything. They wanted it and were prepared to work hard and fight for their team. There was no luck in that. Nick had a great night? Not unusual for a returning player trying to put a point across.
I don’t get to attend as many matches as I would like these days due to other commitments but one thing I did notice last night was how poor the final ball and finishing was. The second half in particular was ridiculously one sided with Dorch barely getting out of their own half barring the odd counter attack. Poole should have won comfortably as they created enough chances but the finishing was shocking. Yes Nick had a blinder, yes their defence chucked themselves at everything but how many shots did you put wide or over the bar when, with a little more composure, they should of buried. Down to a lack of confidence? Probably. Down to fatigue? Definately. With matches coming thick and fast, sadly, I fear it could be a tough run in.

Stato. Your post could have been made at this time last season as we were in a similar situation and exactly the same concerns were raised. Something has to happen to inject some spirit into both our players and our admin. Last season we did not recover and it cost us our NL standing we have seen the TK statistics. Well done. IMHO he should see us to safety this season and then retire whilst still covered with accolades. . HH puts it very succinctly Statistics do not lie. 2pts from our last 5 matches! The Town need fresh thinking from top to bottom.
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

I think people should be careful what they wish for. TK could not do anything about the missed chances yesterday. The players were put in a good enough situation to get a win. It didn’t happen. We are going through a rough patch, which may cost us a playoff place. But the last couple of games we have been unlucky and lacking composure.
