Oh how the other half live. With our game postponed, we've come over the bridge to get our 'fix' The clubhouse is throbbing with a club family party. Great atmosphere and everyone having fun. The game is going ahead outside in atrocious conditions but we're warm and dry in the bar watching the game live on the big screen. Not only is the coverage excellent but we also get instant replays. Hammers are 1 up so far but having all the play so expect more to come.

Meanwhile, over in 6 finger land, the Muff have called off their Trophy game at late notice. I bet Needham Market were chuffed after their looooong trip from the depths of Suffolk 😡 Incidentally, Hammers go 2 up.

In case anyone is even slightly interested, Hammers won 5 nil and the highlights are now being shown on the big screen. Very impressive

Rain in Weymouth was relentless & I'm not surprised it was rained off. Oh, and last time I checked, we actually have 4 fingers and of course, a thumb.

Supporters end up a long way down the priority list when games are called off. However I wasn't too disappointed for the Poole game to be off - it would not have been much fun watching in that weather. Only 5 home league games played so far, last one two months ago. My season ticket is getting dusty!

My season ticket is getting dusty! Unfortunately it looks like our match at home to Tiverton on Tuesday will head the same way. Which means Devs still has one game of his suspension to serve. If the match at Hartley Wintney is also called off, it will make the move to the match on Boxing Day and so on until we actually play another 1st team match. Apparently the match v Swanage although billed as a 1st team match it didn't count. Seems the national FA view with the same contempt these meaningless county FA cups as much as the clubs who are forced to play in them do.

I think that you will find that 6 finger land is just down the road where the prison is. Very confusing place to be on "Fathers Day".

Graeme is correct. Needham Market have forfeited the game. Owing to the need for two days off for most players and the fact that the game will almost certainly called off.
They asked for the game to be replayed on a Saturday but were refused according to a statement on the Needham website.

Hope Weymouth don't pocket the £6,000 prize money as they didn't actually win any match. Their reward for not winning is a trip to either Workington or Ramsbottom United. Dorchester are away to Barnet, whose stewards have a bit of a bad reputation for their treatment of away fans.

Excellent idea! And one that I suggested several years ago. We take over and rebrand as Poole United. If we don't do something about a permanent home ground soon we'll go out of existence - or back to the Hampshire League!

And remember, when we ground shared with them in the mid 90s,the local residents were up in arms! One of the reasons we were only there 1 & a bit seasons.

I understand from talking to people who remember that time, that Hamworthy weren't that keen either. If we had to merge with anyone & I really hope it doesn't come to pass. I would choose the true Bournemouth side, ie the Poppies who I believe have been more than helpful in the clubs difficulties. A club that was a true friend & didn't try to take advantage of the Dolphins plight in the 1990s.

Does anyone know why the Weymouth game at Merthyr was postponed? I would have thought that a 3g pitch would have been playable in any weather and Weymouth's game at home to Needham Market had already been conceded. I heard a rumour (and I hope it's not true) that Weymouth had requested a postponement because it was too close to Christmas for their players to take time off work. This was precisely the same reason that Needham used in their request which was turned down.

According to talkSPORT needham asked for the rescheduled game to be played on a Saturday to which the fa said no it has to be a Tuesday which is why they then said their players couldn’t afford to take time off to make that long a trip during midweek so they pulled out

I think Rob is referring to the game that was originally pencilled in before Weymouths game was called off on Saturday (and therefore should have been replayed on Tuesday) Weymouth were originally set to be playing away to Merthyr, it doesn’t appear that the ‘rumours’ are true though Rob as it was Merthyr who couldn’t host the game Tuesday, explained today in the Dorset Echo www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/17307517.terras-paul-maitland-explains-missing-merthyr-match/
