So once again after one disappointing result the usual dooms & glooms are on here. Don't post much praise after a good result funny that. 😉 Yes they are entitled to their opinion & express it on here. I tend to ignore the usual suspects & read if the criticism comes from someone who doesn't do it much. At the start of the season I stated that it would take probably at least 3 seasons to get back in to NLS. See a post entitled Franklin Clarke to see the actual post. I haven't changed my view on this. TK needs to not only rebuild the side that got us into NLS, due to age catching up with the players, but going forward a whole squad. Not just an eleven that play if fit. The days of even league ever presents is long gone even at our level. So almost halfway through the first of the three, I think progress has been made. Certainly yesterday's result wasn't down to lack of effort, but lack of experience from the younger players. This will change as the get more game time. So I am fairly happy with the progress made. And hopefully TK and the squad will prove me wrong and get promotion back to the NLS after only one season. I miss my trips to the exotic places in Essex & Kent 😉 COYD 🐬

Good points Dave and with the chances we are making we will give someone a hiding soon. It may already be too late for the title (although we have to play all the top three at least once) and it was no too long ago when we were in the bottom three at Christmas and finished second in the league.

Yes, a thoughtful and fair post Dave. Thanks. Some Town fans may now share my opinion that the basis of our lack of progress comes down to missed opportunities in the opening spell of games (perhaps exacerbated by the 'lack of experience' you mentioned Dave), lack of fitness (contributing to the falling away reported in the second half of games) and maybe (as John hinted in his excellent report of the Frome game) a lack of well-timed and inspired substitutions. I hasten to add that my views are based upon limited direct observations so I'm happy to accept alternatives. All of the three weaknesses alluded to above are, of course, remediable but if they aren't addressed now then we will not reach the play-offs much less be promoted.

However I agree with you on the timescale for getting back to NLS. I still trust in TK. I personally think he needs someone on his shoulder who has been there and done it in the league's above. Might give us an edge and command more attention from the changing room. Come on you reds.
