Well that was inevitable but to be honest we haven’t been good enough over the course of a season some of us have only started performing in the last 5 or 6 games, Lets not worry though as there’s still the odd few of us who remember playing at the stadium in the lovely blue and yellow kit and all the years after that. Then as we grew as a club we began to get support from far and away, my dad supported this club as an 8 year old boy and his wish was to see conference south football here unfortunately he passed away the season before his dream became reality. Therefore I want to thank Tommy and all the players and staff for a superb last couple of season and let’s go back to the southern premier with our heads held high, after all there’s not many teams that play at a school which have as successful as us. Keep going boys and let’s bounce straight back 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬COYD

Totally agree. I can’t wait for next season. We should be playing better football with more confidence and competing for the 3pts week in week out. If we are in and around the top 5 attendances should be around double what they have been of late with bumper crowds for the local derbys. From a selfish point more midweek games will mean I can get to more games too! Onwards and upwards COYD!!!

Again totally agree. More local derby's bigger crowds far more local interest. Need a very good start to the new season we shall be there to be shot down but that makes it even more exiting me thinks. Do hope Wimborne can join the party and pleased Gosport stayed up. Yes all ready looking forward to next season less travelling 6/8 new teams to play (at least) and I'm sure our relegation will be a small blip in the clubs much bigger picture. Would love to see James Constable sign on a regular basis and looking forward to seeing Luke Roberts back whom was missed terribly. Icing on the cake for me would be Marvin brother running our midfield with him. COYD

Unfortunately for you richlufc, the SLPD is being reduced to just 22 clubs next season, so midweek matches will be at the same level as this season. Does anyone know if the season starts in SLPD on 4th August or 11th August please?

Cheers happyhammer. And as for next season Shaun put me down for a season ticket please. See I have already moved on. Not in the direction I wanted, but looking forward to some completely new opponents next season like, Kings Langley, Metropolitan Police & possibly Hartley Winteny. Plus renewed rivalries with not only Dorchester Town but Taunton Town & Tiverton Town as well.

There will be more midweek games surely, the SL has a league cup. So maybe 1 or 2 then & probably more rearranged Saturday games due to FA Cup & Trophy clashes. Also if it rains in sunny, sunny Poole Town (it doesn't ever ) a few Saturday home matches may go to a Tuesday night.

totaly agree graeme. Deep down and sure im not the only one!!( including fans and powers to be) .thinking we have been dealt this position now so there will be more local teams in our league there will be less travelling and potencial bigger attendance / more income and less outlay !! then moving forward we can hopefully pay all the debts off and then with our nucleous of players and perhaps a couple of additions / including youth coming through the ranks ,we can sustain a top 6 position through the season . this will keep the higher attendances (unfortunately we only have a small band of about 200 hardened fans ) and the rest will really only turn up if the team is performing at a high standard .
hopefully the attendances will be between 350-500 to start the season off and fingers crossed the players can do their bit on the pitch so these figures will be kept up or even grow.
so coyd lets start how we mean to go on next season with a win !! keep in the top 6 all season /get great attendances / get at least the playoffs and get promotion to the division we deserve and need to be in.
this could be meant that we went down this season .. we can now build from the bottom to the top and with great structure / good performances/a strong board/ good attendances /and more important BELIEF we can get promoted / then who knows a new stadium / and NATIONAL LEAGUE in the next 3 years!!!

I've just read Chris Reeves last "Chairman's Blog" and I agree with everything in it. I've also just read Peter L's latest match report, another accurate and well-balanced statement - thanks Peter. It was great to meet so many old friends on Saturday and get a good result on the day. This thread is brilliant and I love the optimism in the posts so thanks everyone and see you in August.

11th August season starts. 27th April finish apparently. I have calculated from Tuesday 1st May (tomorrow) until Friday 10th August (day before season starts) is just 102 days. Or just over 14 weeks. This is to help another fan who like me goes a bit cold turkey football wise about 2 days after the end of a season

If you look back over the past season and a bit, the big blow was being denied a playoff place. Form dipped, Luke Roberts got injured in the last pre-season game, and we lost Marvin and Louis Tallack. So three first team regulars gone from the start. TK has admitted that he did not strengthen and we had a small squad all season. Injuries and what we might call "spurious" red cards robbed us of key players as vital times of the season and changed results. Many players had to be played out of position. Of course we lost Luke Burbadge to Wimborne . Luke has been a wonderful player for us but in my opinion, with all managers having access to all games by video, full backs in this league were well briefed and knew what to expect. So by mid season we were 4 first teamers from last year down before Marvin's return.
We will need a full squad for next season and with Walks and Luke Roberts hopefully fully fit next year we will be a force to be reckoned with. Promotion will not be a gimme. However the reorganisation at Step 3 means an extra Central/Midlands league and fewer games in the Southern League Premier. Some great away days, Merthyr excepted, and no trips near Kent or Essex. The days of the 4 hour coach trip are almost gone.
If Wimborne succeed (they must be favourites) and Weymuff fail in the playoffs (hard task with both games away) we should have some cracking derbies. With the East Anglian and Midlands clubs gone, there will never be a better time to be in the SLP. Normally I would say mid-table for the first year but with a weaker league, playoffs must be the minimum target As for attendances, we averaged 408 (16th in the NLS) fewer than a hundred short of many of the play-off hopefuls.
Next season with all those derbies with a few good results, that will increase. Compare that to sub 250 when we won the Wessex for the third time. Support has grown and is solid.
Although results disprove it, as a club we belong at Step 2 and now we have to prove it both on and off the pitch. I am already looking forward to August.

well said john Reading between the lines deep down a few wont be to worried we went down. As you mentined less travelling more attendances with local derbys etc.Logisticly it will be much better and with the guys working fulltime aswell and not so many long trips especiallly midweek will hopefully be less strain on them and the performances on the pitch would be more consistant.
Overall more income to pay back loans ,then stability within the club.in the end of the day as fully documented the club need much needed funds . It was mentioned to me by a few that they noticed not everyone was gutted after saturday(i defo was)!!and the look on DEVS Face said it all he was gutted!! like before we have the squad to be in the top 5 all season so attendances will flourish people want to see a winning team, and the players we have fit in to the hopefull plan of promotion straight back next season.
Then build the squad up through the season with perhaps a couple of additions (not loan players) .the loan players are ok but when they go back to their parent sides it has a big impact on the team!!
with the standard we are in now it would be nice to think we can give the youth a chance to impress .eventually they will be the future of this great club!!
Good luck for next season lets show how hurt you are with relegation and lets get back up COYD

Hopefully Wimborne will gain promotion, and along with Dorchester, Weymouth and ourselves this will benefit everybody financially. Long term though we should be focussing on where we will be after the lease expires at Tatnam, if we can ever secure a permanent home which would guarantee us the opportunity to compete at a higher level, and where the local council stand on this matter.

Sometimes you have to be big about these things. Most Wimborne supporters are OK some, at least when they come to Tatnam , are not. However you have to recognise what they have achieved so far and if they are promoted you cannot say it will not be interesting.

by all accounts quite a few poole went to support wimborne thats prob why they had over 600 and thats a shame because we only averaged around 300-400 last season/ perhaps the pendulum is swinging?
I wonder if the admission prices will drop down in accordence with the league position.

It was nice to see a few dedicated Poole Town supporters at the Didcot game as well AFCB fans and with the away fans they all contributed to a gate of over 600 which was impressive with Liverppol's game live on TV. WTFC now have a following of between 250-300 at a home game on a Saturday.
All fans like to see goals and with WTFC this season there has been plenty both home and away. Matty Holmes was correct in saying that the introduction of Luke Burbridge was a real god send. With his natural abilities he has really enjoyed his time with us this season. I lost count of the opposing team managers and coaches from this area that attended the game including TK and SC from Salisbury.
WTFC hope that they can gain that third spot against a very good Swindon Supermarine team this coming Monday, because as your loyal fans have already said the derby games with Weymouth, Dorchester and Poole will financially benefit all our sides next season.
One bad season does not make a bad club and next season will give PT a chance to regroup so here's hoping WTFC are in the same league.

Personally I don't care who comes up. Or the fact Weymouth f***** it up again! Just want to spend as short a time as possible in the Southern League Premier Division & get back in to National League South asap. Who the other 21 clubs are is of little concern. Just as long as we beat them! Of course great having more local derbies, meaning more away fans at Tatnam. But I want to grow our own support & thus have more regular 500+ crowds off our own efforts rather than rely on the wims of our opponents fans.

At the end of the day we all support out own clubs but to be honest a trip over the stour sure beats a trip to Concord or East Thurrock. I think the lack of emotion was more that people were drained. Remember we were 8 points behind at one point, emotionally already down then a revival and failure just at the end. We knew that only a win at Tatnam and a lack of a win for Hoofitfoward would suffice. It was like two relegations and I for one was numb. With all things in life, you have rot make the best of it and for us, a league with four Dorset teams is the best. Forget local rivalries but if Wimborne win on Monday we will have 8 local matches and no stupid long trips over Christmas.
In saying that Poole is a big town, 150,000 give or take. Burnley is about 90K. There is no reason why the club cannot grow much further. Each step from here will be slower. AS for admission prices, don't hold your breath. If we go back to SLP average levels you won't save the price of a match-day coffee and you can guarantee that some clubs will raise theirs. Compare our prices with SLP Clubs this season
Poole £12 Adult, £8 Concession, £5 U18s and £1 U13s
Weymouth £11 Adult, £8 Concession, £3 U16s
Slough are £11 Adults, £7 Concession, £5 for U18, £2 U16
Dorch £10 Adults, £6 Concessions, £1 16 and Under
Kings Lynn £15 Adults: £12 Concessions (Senior,student,disabled) ; £4 Juniors 12-18 ; Under 11: Free.
So only Dorchester are really out of line.

Last season the Adult season ticket price was £195 (£32.50 of which is VAT), Club got £162.50. Happy to pay this again for next season. £195 is about £9.28 a game. Start adult admission at £10 & if we are doing well increase it back up to the £12. Either way a season ticket will save you money. Also 100 days today until the season starts. When did summer get so short!

One bad decision cost us our place we would have beat whitehawk if one centre back had not gone up for the corner which they scored from on the break I hope we stop making silly errors on the pitch and keep 11 players to the end of games this also cost us a place in the National league.
