Unfortunately our u18s lost today 1-0 in the county youth cup final. Their opponents played a "somewhat direct agricultural style" against the passing game of Poole, but in all honesty it worked for them on the day, I know which team I would rather watch each week!!! In a game of very little clear cut chances Muscliffe took the lead after we gave the ball away in a dangerous area leaving their striker through on goal one on one and he finished easily, then parked the proverbial bus along the 18 yard line and thumped it upfield. A very frustrating afternoon but this defeat should not hide the fantastic season they have had and winning the league was probably overall the main aim. Thanks to the few supporters who made the effort to support them, it was appreciated.

Rob - I would agree with this sentiment. A game with very few clear cut chances always looked likely to be settled by a single goal. Poole did put Muscliffe under pressure with a series of corners late in the first half but failed to make anything from them. I thought their keeper did well when required and their wingers were good. Poole did pass the ball well at times but failed to deliver the decisive move.
Unlucky boys - but well done for reaching the final.

These Lads have done us proud throughout all the age groups-they are an exceptional group of young men.

I thought that Muscliffe looked better organised once they were down to 10 men and Poole sadly couldnt make the extra number count. Still full credit to all, conditions were not easy out there
