What are the locations of all the old Poole Town grounds? I wanted to see if I could mark them all down on a google map, so if you know a few locations please post the info here on this thread please Thanks!

There are several grounds that pre-date the Stadium Dan, 1890-1930'ish. Breakheart Lane (appropriate) springs to mind which may be the same ground as the one in Ferndown Road area. You need to read John Powell's book on the history of PTFC 1890-2004 to find out more. COYD - OPIP

I was always told that breakheart lane ground was on land between Linthorpe road and Hunt road which are both off Fernside road by the Shah of Persia pub.

Very close to there i believe, Seldown born and brought up in that area, i was always under the impression from my dad that it was where Verulam(?) road is, got to be some old maps about at the library or perhaps the councillors are sitting on them down at Park Gates?? totally off topic but had my first legal pint in the Shah!! but one pub i never got into was The Sweet Home. Beer in the Evening, an excellent site, gives it a good write-up. COME ON YOU TRIPLE CROWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breakheart ground was indeed the land between Linthorpe road and Hunt road as my da who was born in the bungalow in Devon rd (off Hunt road) distinctly remembers the team changing in the 'shah' and then playing their game!!

It would be good to see some old maps Expat. I too grew up around that area and got my haircut at Ken's opposite the Sweet Home and used to sneak a few drinks in the Shah and the Sloop. I remember the Sweet Home were for the older folk.
