It will feel very odd but I will not be at the xchurch game due to a short family holiday-give the lads a shout for me !! All you great supporters out there please remember our need for a few helpers before and after the game to take down and put back up the security grills on the stand--at least with our new facility behind the dressing rooms we can reward you with a drink! Thanks so much to everyone who has worked so hard down at the ground these last few weeks - you have transformed the place and it is so much appreciated we have got the best supporters anywhere

There's a specific section about Irvine Brown on the Dorset Football Forum for a few days. dorsetfootball.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=idI'm sure it would be appreciated if any Poole Town supporters want to add their recollections or tributes.

Just managed to dig out the following stats on Irvin Brown:-
Born in Lewes on 20th September 1935. Joined from Bournemouth in June 63 and eventually went to Hamworthy United in June 71.
In that time he made 241 league appearances for Poole Town and scored 10 goals. Afraid I have no cup details for him.
Regards,
Steve

sad to hear about irvin brown. i remember when i was a ballboy at the stadium around 1969/70. after one particular match, on our way back to the dressing rooms, the players tunnel was flooded and irvin saw me wading through and said cmon jump on and he gave me a piggy back through the river in the tunnel and through to the dry corridoor beyond. i remember how tall he was to a child and i never forgot that time to this day, he was a great character.
