Had a flyer from people claiming to represent a new political party for local residents through the door. Which refers you to this website: www.poolepeople.org.uk/seeking to find out their opinion on our ground situation I sent through an enquiry and the e mail reply received was as follows: Hi Paul, Thanks for your e-mail. I am not personally familiar with the history of the club's relationship with the Council as I moved to Poole in 2003. We do not consider it appropriate to build significant structures on the limited open space that remains within urban Poole, for example Branksome Rec. Having said that, a town's football team is an important part of its identity and a solution clearly needs to be found. Are you an officer of the club? If so, I would be pleased to meet with you so you can update on your discussions with the Council and the possible solutions you see. Kind regards, Mark Howell Poole People candidate for Poole Town So make of that what you will.

I will look forward to Mr Howell knocking on my door before the forthcoming by-election in my ward :-) Seems a little strange that he is unaware of us though.....

I will look forward to all the candidates in May 2011 knocking on my door if there are any hiccups in the planning application for the Magna Stadium

I'd like to know how many people are in this 'party'. Looks like one to me. Shouldn't trouble the scorers

Obviously done his homework !! How can a man who moved to our fair town in 2003 start a political party called Poolepeople ? Just wondering . I also moved to Poole in 2003. However, my idea of getting involved was to support my local Football team, and become involved in my local school. Yet another rich bloke on the Council who worries about parks is not what we need, mind that's what they all seem to be.......

morning all, after that bit of a false start..... looks like our new striker fits the bill....any impressions from those at the match?? As for Poole people I think that between the forum and the BOD we see thi ngs quite clearly and could run the Town very well!! Its the day to day nigglies of local politics that would wear us down!! Driving into florida today...gas(petrol) in Georgia is $2.60 a gallon about 1.50gbp but my impression is that not quite so many people travelling as previously. Perhaps we should be pushing the job creation angle on our new Stadium. Does anyone have a timeline on how long it woulf take to get up and running and there would certainly be quite a number of contruction jobs created as we build.
ONWARDS TO THE TRIPLE CROWN (AND THE VASE!!!!!!!)
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!

Well, what a turn up, Mr Howell is now Councillor Howell!! The turn out was 17.5% I believe though..... Will be interested to see what he does/tries to do. He was the only one out on the streets in the campaign, o next election might be more spicy :-)

Just had the flyer from the Poole People/Person. I'm with robinho, political version of Poole Quay FC. I think that we, and others, may have underestimated Poolepeople as Howell won the bye-election. I did not read anything in his statement to JohnA that would indicate that he is opposed to our advancement, apart from the concerns about open space. However if that open space is not currently being used by the public and our plans provide public facilities t hen he should be worth talking to. Worlwide people are absolutely disillusioned with politicians so perhaps a non aligned approach may work in Poole Did Andy sign for Poole Quay yet? ? UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!
