I can confirm today having spoken to DFA that the above fixture arranged for next tuesday away at hanworthy is off.
The reason given to me is that Hamworthy Football Club cannot afford to pay for the flood lights for this fixture.
I offered to pay for t he lights, I was then told that there is another fixture being played?, so i offered our ground but was refused.
The fixture has been rearranged for April, i only hope it is not a midweek fixture.
This would never have happended in Wiltshire or any other county, your given a form each season and on this you indicate to the FA what day you can play evening fixtures during the week.
The FA are trying to arrange a fixture either with Portland or Sturminster Marshall.
I will keep you all informed.

This friendly is listed on Poole Borough's messageboard. If this is correct, I'd suggest the matter be raised with the Dorset League. If this game was played (particularly under lights!), it would make a mockery of Hamworthy's explanations.
I hope this is all a misunderstanding.

If it is true, it is outrageous, and something must be done by the club.

I have just driven past the county ground, and noticed the lights on and thought perhaps DCFA had made HUFC play PTFC after all, shock horror HUFC Res are playing Poole Borough in a friendly!!! This really is not on. I hope the club make the strongest possible complaint to the DCFA. after first, they came on OUR web site to say they could'nt afford the cost of floodlights for Res games! then when we offered through KJ to pay for it they said the pitch was now booked out for use by another club. Well Hammerite YOU are A LIAR, for proof read all the related threads to this story on the message board. PTFC Res now have no game till next Tues and to cap it all only one Sat fixture this month. Have you now the balls to say why you asked DCFA to reschedule this match only this time the truth. DCFA must action this, not just a fine but take points off them. for an unfullfilled fixture for no real reason! But please play the game so when we beat them it hurts twice as much! I expect they will now flood this fixture with 1st players to stop that happening that is if we ever get the game played now.

I understand the club has made its views known and lodged a formal query as to how this ridiculous situation could possibly have happened.Whether DCFA do anything remains to be seen.Listen out on clubcall.

i attended this match until just before half time and a full compliment of Hamworthy management and players plus subs were in attendance. The car park was overflowing. I counted approximately 30 - 40 people watching this game.
Also there was three DCFA officials (Referee & Linesman).
This makes a mockery of the DCFA.
I also went to the DCFA office were there was staff in attendance but the doors was locked.

Re Very Annoyed PTFC Fan's post
I don't think it's fair to call Hammerite a liar. I suspect he was passing on what he believed in good faith, and had no idea about the friendly.

since i last posted my report i have received a number of calls from people supporting our dissatisfaction with the way Hamworthy have mislead the DCFA.
I have received two calls from DCFA members, they have promised it will not be brushed under the carpet.
LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Don't worry - no need to apologise to me!
I too would be interested in an update from Hammerite.

Thank you Doug what you say is absolutely true at the time of writing I did not know of any friendly. This however does not change the fact that the DCFA should not have arranged the fixture in the first place as they were informed a long time ago that as they own the lights, and not us they should not give us matches under floodlights without our agreement. When our Secretary was first given the fixture he immediatley informed the new Fixture Secretary of her mistake, and that we would not be playing the game she should then have then informed youre Club of this right away. It was at this point I first went on line to tell you the game was off. What I did not know however was that Alex had been approached by Poole Borough to play a friendly on our Training Night on Tuesday, and had decided to use it to look at players for next year. It was by no means a Reserve side that played on Tuesday.Poole Borough agreed to share the cost and the game was sanctioned by the DCFA. I can understand why some people are getting upset but I suspect that if you were in our position, and bearing in mind that our Reserves are well up with their fixtures, and their place in the league you would have done the same. As stated before in my previous e-mail if we played you the other night we would be given other night matches to play against Teams with a lot less support than you get. Thank you once again Doug for youre civility.

Thanks again, Hammerite, for taking the trouble to explain some of the issues - as is often the case, it seems more cock-up than conspiracy, once you get more of the facts.
All the best, and I'll keep an eye out for the date of the rescheduled fixture to see if I can make it.

Thanks to Hammerite, but what ever the escuse or facts it still dos'nt make it right, we can not let this go! and I can assure you it was mostly Res players with one or two 1st team + new signing Steve Legg, we fully expect more 1st teamers out when this fixture is finally played!!!

I attendfed the match and i can assure you i no what i saw along with a witness from Poppies, who was also watching this game played by the reserve team.
But how can you suddenly say it was sanctioned by the DSFA, when the DSFA told me they had no knowledge of this fixture.
So who paid for the lights, because Hammerite inplied HUFC couldn't afford it.
There was no one on the gate as i just walked straight through.

Just to say that Hamworthy only called Poole Res game off because they want to feild a first team side like they did at the Tatham!!!

This is the last I am going to say on the matter because obviously some people are not reading what I am writing. The game was not accepted by us because we would have to play other teams under lights with less support than Poole Town whenever the DCFA decided, and we would have to pay for the lights. Any game on the main pitch has to be sanctioned by the DCFA, and the game Tuesday was played with their permission, which they would not have done if the fixture against you had not been their mistake. For Poole Fan 2 to say he expects to play against more of our first team in the game when it is played does not hold up, if you think about it we could have fielded our entire first team on Tuesday as they had no mid week game, and would you not have fielded some of youre first team squad players as you did in youre home fixture of course you would, and I would not blame you.KJ please name the regular Reserve players you saw. How anybody from Poppies would know as they are not in the Dorset League I do not know, remember we have two Under Eighteen Teams some of which go with both our First, and Reserve sides for experience and one of these scored our goal he has only been a frige player for our Senior sides, but is one for the future the whole Idea of this game. I am sorry that Alex playing the game on Tuesday our training night rather than on Wednesday perhaps that was not a good idea. Lastly if you look at the table if we lose to you it would not be the end of the world would it, so what did we gain from asking not to plat it.

I have been told the fixture will be played in April on a saturday.
When the reserves were formed we made it quite clear what the club policy was.
This has not changed, so when this fixture is played we will play the 16 to 19 year olds. Not the first team, our club prioity is for the first team to gain promotion to Wessex 1.
NEXT tuesday we are away to Wimborne you will see the youngsters also playing in this fixture kick off 7.45pm
