Well done to the lads for a well deserved 1-0 win today. We absolutely tore into B & L at times, who despite being one of the better teams in the league just had no answer. Just a shame that we couldnt get the 2nd goal but once again Joe did the damage to give us the win.
But... was that the worst referee ever to visit Tatnam! Unbelieveable!

Ouch! a bit of a lesson last night for the 1st team losing 3-0, at Thatcham I thought the team line up was a bit unusal, Matty Hayfield upfront on his own? Chivers and Bayston on the bench? But I still believe we can turn the tie round but we will have to play better than that. Any views?

It wasnt a good night but we gave Thatcham a good game--caused them more problems than many div one sides have. Our lads are not tested that often in div 2--afew more games like last night would bring the best out of the team.As for the line up-Joe Collins unexpected army commitment was a problem,so rather than change the shape Ralphie was brought in-he has played up front very regularly for his previous clubs--remember his performance at Romsey ealier this season. We will need a few qulity signings next year but we arent far away.Trust Tom and Taffy to get it right!!

Not a suprise really that we lost to Thatcham..
And to do well next year we shall need to improve in attack.
We need a another 2 attackers, Chivers is good but young and will b difficult next year 4 him I believe, turner and Warrington gone. Brown and Manning have done extremly well for us this year, but will they cut it as front men in a higher division??
We need a traget man to replace Aaron and also someone who is known to score many a goals (I know we have Funnell - but he's not the striker) in the Wessex Top flight, as Tommy did many moons ago...
I shall hope 2 hear some news sooner - rather than later, as it's gotta b best 2 plan 4 the future now.. And with the kids we have that, but we need a couple of older more experienced players who r proven to bloaster the team right now and for the next couple of seasons.

Where was Joe Collins? surely hes a good repecement for Aaron Turner? hes big, strong, can hold the ball up and can score goals! Collins and Browner partnership up front looks a deadly front two to me. Anyone agree with me?

Joe had Army commitments on Tuesday - he did do all he could to make the game but it ultimately wasn't possible.

Still don't believe Joe or Browner shall cut it in the premier league though!

Having skippered Blackfield & Langley on Saturday in a game that I thought you should of hammered us bearing in mind how much possession you had, I have to agree that the standard of refereeing was abyssmal.
Playing at this level you would expect to be treated with respect from the officials and in return give them the respect that they warrant. However being spoken to like a child gets no respect in my books. The possibility of a good footballing game went out the window as soon as the whistle blew. Continual stoppages slowed the game down (mind you probably did us a favour) and the sending off of your defender was somewhat harsh - although the referee will tell you it was for foul & abusive language and a straight red given! If the ref had not been so child like about the player returning to the pitch then maybe he wouldn't of been sworn at.
All that aside, you played us off the park on the day and we really didn't get going. Wish you all the luck and hope the push for Div1 goes well.
