Proves how old I am - I remember Poole having a wonderful old railwway station - and going to ringwood and Daggons Road by train from there. Used to watch teh trains crossing Holes Bay from my grandmas bedroom in Stanley Green Road!!! Ah nostalgia!! BTW QPR winning 2 - 0 at Blackpool

The site substitutes words like c**k in c**kles ratman, that's the trouble.
Yes great for the town tonight steve.
Well, it's 4-0 final score everyone. Tonight's live match thread was brought to you by kind permission of ashsec and the morecambedolphin.

What a great night, what a great result and what a great thread. At the time of posting, we've had 105 posts and 1239 hits. The best so far. Despite having been at the game, I read it start to finish and enjoyed your banter as much as the game. Well done all concerned in particular ashsec and Brian.
I remember at least one Wimborne booking. I thought I heard the crowd was 455. There was a great moment late in the game when Carl Preston hit the post. Good following from Poole. Bit of singing, particularly liked the "That's why we're top of the league" at Fulltime and the chants of "Are you Bournemouth in disguise?" after the third and fourth goals. Sorry to any AFCB fans, just trying to wind up the chavy WTFC fans, who incidentally broke their drum during the game.
Can't wait until Saturday now, for the trip up North to Bemerton. The MatchLive Thread crew will bring you a new first. The thread will be hosted exclusively by Glen61 making his first post on the forum after many years of silent reading. Glen will be at the game and somehow posting the updates as well. I will let you figure out how he will be doing it. Roll on Saturday.

Wellcome to Glen61 (Is 61 his age? If so, well up to scratch!) We were told 405 was the official figure dy but 455 would be better! It was fun last night but please note that I CANNOT POST on Saturday. Maybe sterte will be available. Or another new fan?

Brian - I believe Glen might have been born in 61, so not quite...........but does look 61. Probably years of following PTFC have done that. You will reconise him, when you come down for the cup final!
Just to make it clear - glen61 will be phoning in the updates from the ground on Saturday and mysteriously posting them in real time as well, for the world to see.
405 was probably correct, the PA system was not very clear in our part of the ground.

I was speaking to a Bamber Bridge fan the other day and he told me they used to do a live match thread like ours but stopped doing it for home games because they thought that it reduced attendances at their home games. Mind you, they don't get very many with or without the thread and I don't think that is the case with our live match thread which is great for me, expat, ratman, ...............

If I thought this idea was impacting PTFC financially, then I would drop it immediately. I have spoken with a couple of the Directors, they have no problems with it so far and are in favour of us doing it. It was set up to aid the exiled fans and those not able to get to the game rather than an alternative to going. Whilst it is informative, it really is no substitute.
Just for the record - This particular MatchLive thread is a World Record breaker of its own!
It has to date the most posts for any single thread in the history of this forum and also has been read more times than any other MatchLive thread (even more than that great night at VTFC). Presumably it's all the WTFC fans checking in to see if it really was as bad for them last night as they remembered !!

I totally agree dy, if we were affecting the club in anyway other than positive, we would stop immediately. Suspect the whingeing Chavs come on our site as there's only cobwebs on theirs ;D

;DThanks to ashsec and Brian. I could do the keyboard on Sat if I don't get there. Only have a landline tho st - Landline is not an obstacle, as we tend to phone through not text. It's quicker and necessary the rate at which we score. ;D However, glenn61 has offered to take care of a FIRST on Saturday -> He will phone from the ground and post at the same time. I have absoute faith in his abilities to be in two places at one time We are looking for volunteers for the home game against Horndean, but you will probably be at that game........without a mobile phone. Hoping you will join the RWA choir at Bemerton still
