Final whistle gone its still 3-2 to Poole, another 3 points in the bag. I understand Charlie was red carded in the dying minutes.
Well done Poole.
See you all tomorrow at the Christmas Party

Good job keeping the masses informed dave2. It looks like you had about 300 hits during the game, showing this is a worthwhile service.
Will start a separate thread later for the Hamworthy game, but I can not attend, so will be looking for two bodies to step in and take the challenge. There are provisional offers to provide the updates from m3, sterte, glen and others. Will need someone behind the keyboard again.
I will be enjoying a round of golf at the Celtic Manor, but should be able to tune in for the secondhalf.

Thanks dave2, m3, dorsetyellow and anyone else involved in setting up the phone-in this time. Phew! That was too close for comfort, especially after Tuesday's euphoria! Merry Christmas everyone! Hope we get into 2009 undefeated.

Brian - No probs. Perhaps you could be behind the keyboard on the 27th against Hamworthy, or are you coming down?

I'm not very good at these things dorsetyellow but if all it involves is receiving phone calls on my mobile and then posting goals and brief comment on the site (like dave2 did this time), then - if no one else can do it - I will. Please confirm in good time.
Well, we're now halfway through our fixtures and have a clear lead at the top of the table. Can we do it this time?

Seems a fair and accurate reflection of what I saw. Only post match, the red was reduced to yellow for Charlie, but the writer would not have been aware of this when he submitted his report.

Tommy was right to caution after the comprehensive mid week thrashing of VT.
A gaping hole on Poole's defence allowed Romset to score a well taken opener. You felt a goal coming for Poole - Smithy duly obliged with a well taken equaliser. Sturgess then cooly slotted home to take us ahead before we gave Romsey too much space for a good equaliser.
I expected Poole to come out all guns blazing in the second half - but they did not. It was quite a scrappy game. Poole seemed keen to just lob it iver their defence. However, Tommy made the right substitution, with Browner coming on andf flickinmg the gaolkeeper - just seemed the ball trickled in to the net.
Did not see the incident that got Charlie sent off - but good news that reduced to a yellow.
The key was that Poole ground out another 3 points.
Half way through the season and 61 points out of a possible 63 - tremendous!

We keep having these defensive lapses, but keep getting the 3 points. TK said the other day that he thought we hadn't played well for a month. To have 61 points from 63, not playing well can't be too bad eh? :-) Apparently those up the road think they're playing good football and are doing well. Is there a different league table just for their parish?

Marlane saw the game yesterday , and said it looked to her that Charlie and the other player banged heads, and then he got a red card, but other's have said that Charlie leads with his elbows and that is why he got the red, which thankfully was down graded to yellow
