Well done Sterte and dave2. Great service which we now need to repeat for the away win at Romsey on Saturday. I will be back and going, think Sterte might be behind the keyboard.
Well can we now really start to think about it becoming a reallity? Our nearest challenger well beaten on their own turf.
Not sure how many of you know of the situation here in Germany at the moment? A small village of about 5,000 inhabitants, called Hoffenheim are top of the Bundesleague going into the winter break. The owner of SAP was a former player and current fan. He has bank rolled them, to the extent of building a new 30,000 stadium, which will be full every week when the season resumes next year. They have not bought the tallent, it is mostly home grown, playing attacking, attractive football. They/he had a dream. Why can't we? We just need someone like the owner of SAP. There must be some wealthy soles in Poole somewhere!
COYD.

Just got back home from the game .. what a top night.
My boy Luke's first outing to see the Dolphins and when Charlie came over and cheered at him after we scored just made the evening. I'm now trying to get one 'over the moon' 5 year old into bed.
Thanks for a great game.

Great result. Many thanks to the live links from the match & Dave at this end - what a great club - both for supporters and players.
Do you realise, less than half way through the season, and already enough points to have got us 11th place last season at the end!
This must be the best start ever by Poole, must be very few clubs that can better this?

Superb result. Looks like we are going to need Branksome or upgrades to Tatnum.

To be fair to VT they had 5 of their first team missing. Having said that you can only beat what's put in front of you and Poole did a first class job of taking them apart. The lads worked hard but three players shone in this match for me, Skelts (went on a great run and carved an opening for the first goal), Gilly (worked tirelessly as usual) and Harvell. With Jason pulling off some really good reflex saves, it's probably the best game I've seen him play and the first half save low to his right was 'top draw'. Well Done lads!!

Thanks to Dave2 for putting up with my hoarse voice shouting down the phone at him!! A truly superb TEAM performance, some teams might have wobbled when the equaliser game, not the Mighty Dolphins. Totally agree with m3, but Smithy plugged away tirelessly, Lammy was Mr Cool, we even saw Taff calming Charlie down!!! All the subs fitted in seamlessly, good to see Hog on the scoresheet. Just hope that Gilly is ok after that tackle. Also, the supporters were great, making it a home game, Five flags as well. Fantastic reception for our team as they came off the pitch. Finally , thanks to Charlie for going out of his way to see little Luke, hopefully the first of many games.. COYD ;D

Apologies that a team list didn't appear on the live updates last night. Sadly VT don't have a Parky, mind you there's only one!! And the match started before i could get the info, and then we scored :-)

And the match started before i could get the info, and then we scored :-) The Poole line-up (by formation not number) was Harvell Browne Dibba Whitley Gill Sturgess Skelton Taffy Bailey-Pearce Smith Austin Subs used: Poore, Hogan, Hubbard Subs not used: Wyatt & Fisk VT FC were mssing five players who started the abandoned game i.e. Sales, Hunt, Ashford, Byron Mason and Tyrone Bowers. Two suspended and three injured. Probably akin to us playing without Charlie, Steve and three other regulars. One of their officials said to me before the game that they would struggle to score. I don't think he expected them to concede five though, so still a very good performance from the Poole team. Apparently their number 2 (Adam Camfield) was carrying an injury too - clearly not to his vocal chords - he was his usual fractious self with the officials before going off at half-time. Need to get another three points at Romsey to hit the half-way point of the season on the highest possible note.

As was said earlier. The team can only beat the opposition put in front of them. Whilst VT certainly seemed to lack fight at times, I am reliably informed that it was one of the best performances by a Poole Town team in a very long time. I think our substitutes showed that we have strength in depth. COYD

COYD From what I've read in the VT programme, their reserve side is top of their league accompanied by reserves of teams from higher leagues. So those reserve players filling in the spaces vacated by their first team regulars are no mugs.

The Dolphins on the other hand need to put this win to bed and move on........all is still to play for

Very pleasing to see that Hogan and Sturgess played a big part in the win........get them back in the squad, making it stronger. Was good to see the players being prepared to have a shot from outside the box. Hogan's goal was a cracker, from a very acute angle. He troubled their defence as soon as he came on.
