Huge disappointment all round but the Merthyr team coach is stuck on the M5 and they are unable to move turn round and unable to get here. 5 pm would have been the earliest and therefore the game has to be postponed.

Perhaps this is linked to the terrible flooding across the midlands and downwards and the traffic chaos that comes with it. Let's hope they make it back home safely.

I am just struggling to understand why they would be on the M5 anyhow?

I am just struggling to understand why they would be on the M5 anyhow? Short stretch between M4 and the junction at Taunton and the road A358 which takes you on to the A303, Yeovil and the road to Poole. If they can't turn around, why not continue & play the match at 6pm an hour after their arrival at 5pm? Is it because if you turn up late the club gets fined, but no fine if you don't turn up at all?

Thats a shame this season is becoming more difficult each week we are without a game only 10 league s played. Notice Chesham game at Weston supermare is still on and like Merthyr would have had to go on the M5 maybe should have got there travel plans better prepared in view of the poor weather up and down the country!!! Very dissapointing.!!!

1. Should not be a postponement. we should be awarded a walkover! 2. I blame Dr Beeching for all this traffic 3. One thing. At the present rate of progress does our contract with the school board cover matches played in May or June??

come on all you ex military types. Was there ever an excuse for not being on time. Your old Sar Major had heard em all and never batted an eyelid as he gave you jankers I once lost several hours pay because my ride did not show up(he took the day off without telling me!) and i had to bus it in to work. Late for Parade? No excuse

in the days sat nav you can plan ahead and motorway jams happens all the time it would been best both team to delay the kick off as merthyr now travel down Tuesday night players staff have to time off work etc teams have duty to fulfil there fixtures to league as well. would benefit to delay the kick for both teams. just another game on back log now

Seriously 0930... Its 3hrs with good traffic to Poole so I think that's far too late to leave Merthyr anyhow.... Sh@# happens

Speaking as someone who crosses the Severn quite often I'd have gone M4, then down to Bath, Warminster, Shaftesbury, Blandford. However, a frustrating day for both teams and sets of supporters, with a difficult long distance Tuesday night fixture for Merthyr at some point in the future. At least Salisbury lost at Hayes!

Big dissapointment as Groundsman and staff fought to get game on despite terrible weather. I' m with those who can't understand why we did not insist on an evening kick off . We have floodlights for heavens sake. This season has a feel of disaster over it already !! We are out of all Cups that matter with the League to concentrate on but can't get a League on for love nor money, and we haven't even hit WINTER yet !!!!!!!!

Very dissapointing.!!! Yep we left at a sensible time and got to Weston at 12-45, including a 45 minute stop off enroute. I can’t understand what they were doing on the M5 either, as it was well known that the M5 closure was in place. Although if you look at the highways agency twitter feed, all the stuck traffic was cleared by 9am. Think someone is trying to pull a fast one here, and am sure the Merthyr managers post on Thursday about being without 8 players had nothing to do with it. link

Whether there was stupidity or skulduggery, the point here is that several people had their lives changed in the accidents and not for the better. Let’s move on and let the league decide what to do next.

And we're going to need to bring in loan players to fill all these fixtures we're going to have to squeeze in...and we've only just got into the winter weather. Makes you wonder if there was even a Merthyr coach on the M5 ! Half expecting Tuesdays game to be off due to the Hartley W. goalie getting stuck in the blood pressure machine at the local surgery !😋

I know we have gone on about what happend regards Merthyr team coach on sat but having gone on there website they make NO mention of there game being posponed no mention or apoligies to there own Supporters that might have travelled just seems very very strange all round. No mention on any club forums that i can see either. Very intresting. As been said on our forum it now must be a matter for the Southern league to investigate!!!

With all of this conspiracy theory stuff doing the rounds I must own up to feeling sheepish whenever we play Merthyr.
